  1. Looks great! What songs were you playing?
  2. I was able to get 95% of the rattles taken care of The false floors are complete. I might redo them in the future for a better fit.
  3. I literally got this done 5 minutes before I gave this to my brother. I had absolutley no time to really demo it let alone test it. I wish I would have. Based on the 30 seconds I listened to it, it sounded very good. The midrange was a bit peaky but the upper midbass and treble sounded very smooth. It is definitely louder than I expected. I very happy that it doesn't sound like a cheap pair of computer speakers! I wish I would have had time to take good pictures of it This was my first project finishing wood to this extent. I made some major errors on the stain but I learned a lot from it.
  4. Looks great! Is the height slightly more on the new amps?
  5. Thanks. I would like to get it on a meter someday.
  6. Next step is to make a false floor for the amps. I still need to make a cover for the aero port opening too. I have a vicious rattle in the back that comes and goes with temperature. When it is 50 and below it rattles, above 50 it doesn't. Strange. I dropped the headliner the other day and fixed one rattle and now I have another This 18 is slowly shacking my car apart. It is great to have a sub system with high output but chasing rattles sucks ass! After that is the front stage.
  7. You are going to like the Dayton Audio driver
  8. Are you using the mounting bolt on the backside of the magnets?
  9. Looking amazing as always. Cool video
  10. I will be in Jamaica that weekend, bittersweet Thanks for posting. I have a bachelor party in Baltimore this Saturday night. Cant make this one either.
  11. A better comparison might be between the ZCON and the NS. I had a ZCON. It was good for rap songs but wasn't able to reproduce other genres of music as well as I like. Possibly a different enclosure would have been better. I now have a Z.3. It is a very musical driver and gets crazy loud. A SAZ2500D is no problem for a Z.3 in a good enclosure. I am powering mine with a DD M3a.
  12. I would really appreciate you not saying these things over and over and over on every forum, they are simply untrue. I really could care less what you think is happening here with what part Fi plays with our drivers, and try and spread facts around instead of your opinions masked as facts. What part of that sentence is a lie and not a fact? I believe the point Mark is trying to make is that SSA has significant input into the goals, design and performance of each driver wearing the SSA logo, as opposed simply tossing a logo onto a Fi-designed driver which is generally what you attempt to indicate happens. I never stated anything about SSA involvement. Never said anything false either. A general question was asked. I gave an appropriate response.
  13. Thanks man. I wish you could hear it. I am dying to get my front stage setup complete.

  15. I understand. In general, how do the two brand names match up? Fi designs and manufacturers both.

Sharp looking h/u. You can use the single sub enclosure you have now to experiment with subwoofer placement. If you do not have room for two 18"s I would recone to 15"s. More bang for the buck.
  17. Thanks Rick! I am very happy with this setup. The flexibility of this driver amazes me. It accurately reproduces any genre of music yet has some serious ouput!
  18. First thing to do its to find what is rattling. You have two solutions. Either secure the two surfaces together to prevent them from rattling against each other or put something between the two surfaces. I found that a good cheap material to use between two surfaces is foam carpet padding. If a metal panel is vibrating I find the best solution is to stiffen it.
  19. Going to try a hair trick next
