  1. Looks good!
  2. Why do you need recone kits for the 18s?
  3. If he has his amp setup up correctly now, then he needs to asdjust the sub level control. Regardless what has been said, most units require the use of this to be off of zero to produce voltage. Lol. So my pictures are fake and I made up the manual? I never said your pics or setup was fake. I am however stating a fact that is being over looked because you continue to intrude on the conversation with only having general knowledge of your setup(or similar setups). If we were discussing a unit the same as yours then I would agree and say that setting to 0 should be the best option as your unit does not have a sub level control it actually has a bass boost instead and should not be used. So back to the topic, for his setup he needs to use the sub level control to adjust his RCA voltage out. If you like I can pull out some units and DMM to show how it works. I see no reason though as this is fairly straight forward. I do not suggest setting it to the max though. Most units actually produce max volts at about 80% level on the sub out side. Again you talk before knowing the facts. The KDC-X994 does indeed have a subwoofer level control. I do not know why this is so difficult for you to grasp. Looks like my "general knowledge" is better than your asssumptions. Doesn't look like you are the car audio guru you thought you were.

  5. Maybe the dcon doesn't have the output you are looking for. Have you considered a different brand sub?
  6. ...someone's got the bass bug!!
  7. You are right. I am wrong. My hu subwoofer is not -10 to +10 it is -15 to +15. I never adjust it but I did know it was there. Instead of running a clipped signal to my amplifier I will either upgrade my equipment until I get the sound I want or use a separate processor for adjustments if my equipment is sufficient. I prefer a mix of both, good equipment and a sub processor, I use a ZED RA. I snapped a couple pics for you. I also uploaded a page from the manual that I highlighted. I do not know how much more proof you need
  8. I set my amplifer gains with my hu at 75% max volume. That is the highest it will ever play it to. If I then jack up the subwoofer volume level on the hu I could be sending a clipped signal from the hu to the subwoofer amps. Every hu I have ever owned that had a seperate subwoofer volume level was adjustable from -10 to +10. A setting at 0 is not equal to no volume. It is equal to the same ouput level as the other rca outputs on the hu considerin that all other adjustments are nominal. If I want to boost my bass freqs I will use a seperate processor for that to help eliminate hu clipping.
  9. I would not call the Z.3 an all out SPL sub. It will pound great in a daily setup too. Some guys think SPL subs sound like crap the Z.3 can sound good too. For 2k burps : SA series from Sundown. They have been proven to kill all out SPL subs. For 2K daily/burps : Z.3 from Sundown hands down. Search around. There are multiple vids of a single SA's hitting +155db. There are also vids of single Z.3's hitting over 155db and doing over 150db on music. That is the difference when choosing the driver, long term power versus burping power goals.
  10. Dam son, hope that fits in your car!
  11. KNU Kolossus is definitely larger than just about all car audio 1/0. I have been using HPM and I do have about 20ft laying around so that is what I will stick with. If I was going to replace it it looks like welding 3/0 cable or KNU Kolossus would be better. Depends on cost at that point. Thanks for all of the replys!
  12. Thanks for the info guys! I currently have 2 runs, one pos and one neg, of Stinger HPM. I was thinking about replacing it with 2/0 welding supply cable but it looks like just adding another 2 runs (1 pos, 1 neg) of welding supply 2/0 would be best.
  13. I disagree with this post. The sub level on a hu should be at zero. All six RCA outputs should have the same output voltage then. I say should because not all hu's are the same but by design this is how they work. I never adjust the sub level on the hu. But if I would it would be to turn it down not up. An separate eq or sub processor would be better to use in this case. That is how I do it but I know that everybody does something different. If the op does not understand the adjustments on the equipment he using then that is definitely an issue. I have never used a DCON. But I would suspect that if all adjustments are done correctly then possibly the enclosure is at fault or the driver just isn't the right one for him.
  14. Does anybody have a size comparison of weldingsupply 2/0 and car audio brand 1/0? I would like to see a size comparison with calipers or just a picture side by side would be good
  15. Yep, I hear the same thing from my wife.
  16. You need to contact Fi then. [email protected] Yes, thank you. We don't sell Fi, though we wish we did. I knew that
  17. You need to contact Fi then. [email protected] Why? He ordered through SSA, right?
  18. The SA are great subs. Have fun with it.
  19. DC Power crap never made it into the test because they never sent me the sample wire. Another reason why I stick my middle finger high in the air at DC Power. Did you ever get to test the welding supply 1/0?
  20. Nice amps!! I love 90's stuff, ah the memories!
  21. Nice truck. Now get'r done!
  22. I am really anxious to hear your thoughts on this!
