Welcome to the IHoP v.2
I have no clue how my hog of a car feels so small and slippery.Sometimes those engineers make magic happen. I also didn't know the ST and RS were so heavy for their segment. My roomates ST feels much more wild than Helga, but it's definitely slow in comparison. I blamed the FF drivetrain, but you think they are just overweight? The ST's 3200+. Tge RS should be roughly 200 more, so it's more expensive than a base Mustang GT and nearly as heavy. It's only advantages would be fuel economy and the AWD.

Like the styling. I know nothing about them though. They drive way smaller than they are. I am not a GM man, but they are surely making serious headway and Ford is not doing anything to keep me looking at their stuff. I'd rather get an SRT Charger than an SHO atm That makes me sad. Chrysler sucks.Well, you can hardly compare a large displacement RWD car to a boosted V6 with FWD biased AWD, especially considering the HUGE price gap.

The damn thing weighs a ton. That was what turned me off on the ST. I don't know how that car handles so well.

A and Z plans are the same price. Maybe it's because the V6 was so much cheaper?
-
Welcome to the IHoP v.2
You should get more than that. The '15 for me stickered at $35, but my Z-plan price was $29. I have 6 vehicles, four of which I insure and plate. I'm tired of spending money in too many places, so I'm going to downsize to a daily driver I don't have to worry about storing in the winter and one pickup.

I'll sell you a practically new '14 that will smoke a new one and save you 10 grand.

Honestly, I'd leave it alone, but have the exhaust fully welded or at least v-bands in an area you need a clamp. Should cost you less than cats and retain little restriction. You shouldn't have any odor issues unless you have a leak.
-
Welcome to the IHoP v.2
Are you not running cats now? Personally, I'd stay away from "hi-flow" cats on a daily car. They need replaced more often. You'll be lucky to get 3 years out of them. I'd find a way to fit a factory replacement equivalent.

They're too wide in the shoulders, and where they curve digs into my shoulder blades. Also, they only change the seat back while the bittom stays the same. $1300 for just different seat backs is a ripoff. The normal seats do a fine job, are more comfortable, and cheaper.

5.0 V8 swap - converting 2dr explorer to AWD v8
I agree with all statements, but knowing what I do about these trucks and the experience I have with them, if I had a donor vehicle, I could probably accomplish the transformation in a week, It's literally a bolt-in affair, every single piece. But as has been stated, such a waste. You're better off spending that money on higher education, which I highly suggest.
