  1. Your welcome. I was wondering the same thing myself.

I would set the low pass filter at around 90hz. Your mid bass should come in around 80hz. Play it hard and see what it does.

Take a good look at the glue around the dust cap for any gaps. You might also see if you can pry it up with your fingers anywhere.

Do you have a sub sonic filter?
  5. For the same size sub I would buy a sundown before a skar.
  6. I was just wondering about their use in car stereo systems so you wouldn't have to use as big of a battery bank in the rear.
  7. To help the rear battery with burst power. Would this help with high powered systems?
  8. Who will win the sprint cup?
  9. So some of those articles are just bull?
  10. Reason for asking is I have read articles that go both ways with clipping.
  11. Will a clipped signal cause the coils to run hotter and possible damage them?
  12. Do you know how to upload pics? **pics uploaded and moved to first post.**
  13. I have had everything but a evil so far. Loved them all.
  14. How long has it been. What was your order date??????????
  15. How many of you run SSA subs?
  16. Almost like a funky pup. This post was meant to be funny.Sorry
  17. Haha, I just replied on CA.com saying: If sealed is the direction you want to go and that is the power you plan to run, I would suggest checking out the Xcon if you are leaning SSA. Not that the Icon is bad sealed, far from it, just that the Xcon is a little stronger sealed. Yep. Caught the response lol. I'm not set on sealed or ported. Lol hispls and I were talking about a crazy aperiodic enclosure with two vents tuned to different frequencies, but I don't want to make my box builder have an aneurism trying to figure it out. Both the XCON and ICON look like extremely fast subs from what I could pull up on YT. I suppose I'm just a little overwhelmed by their ratings seeing as how the ICON sits right at what my amp is capable of doing and the XCON exceeds it. Just want to make sure that they won't be begging for more power if I give them less than rated, that's all. A xcon will sound great on icon power!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's a bit of a relief, then. I've always been curious about SSA's subs. You just don't see them run an awful lot. There are a lot more out there then you think.

  19. With impedance rise and the gain set right I don't see any problems.
  20. Good read on breakers, thanks Proof! Fuses it is. Mecman is leading the race for a new alt. Should I just get the 320a big daddy in case I go even bigger in a year or two? I'll have the $ for that next week. Ordered some 2/0 welding wire. I just bought enough ground wire to go from the amp to the frame in the trunk, and a few runs in the engine bay. Is this adequate, or do I need a full run from amp to the front battery? I need a good voltage meter, what do you guys recommend? I see stinger getting used often. Stinger is a good choice, but then you need a calibrated meter to dial it in. To be accurate. I you can afford it go with a 320amp alternator.
  21. It has to be the DCON or GCON because the ICON and XCON have a second gen, and clearly it isn't a ZCON or an EVIL. At least that is my take on it I think new dcons.
