Well I made an impulse trade today and decided to trade my Fi BL. I picked up 2 JL Audio W6's for the BL. So far they sound very good and the difference in SQ between the BL and the W6 is not even close. Overall I'm pretty happy with these subs, and I will have more to say about them when I get a box built for them. I will probably send these bad boys to PSI to get them upgraded too

I used to have 2 type r's. Even though my BL is louder I don't think it would be louder than better 12 inch subs like SA 12's or dc lvl 3's or 4's

I think just for your budget SA-12's FTW lol, and I think you will be happy with 2 12's. I miss having 2 12's

The SSD is rated at 1000wrms now so it will take that kicker like a champ. Both are badass subs, but you could get 2 SA 12's for about 300. If the sale is still going on

All the subs you're thinking about are excellent. Fi/AA are built by the same company in the same building in Vegas both excellent. Everybody opinion is going to be subjective so just flip a coin on each one. Good luck on your choice.

I've owned a performance teknique it's the worst amp I've ever owned. It doesn't do close to rated and it doesnt produce clean bass

I can't take credit for figuring it out. I got the solution from db-r, then really felt like an idiot cause it made sense lol

I used a small screw and screwdriver... I screwed the screw into the soft part inside of the metal RCA piece and pulled it out. Awesome! What did you do?

To add closure to this post I fixed the SAX 1200d today and it's beating up my BL again

I'm learning everyday through making dumb mistakes like this... Lucky for me I had another amp in my closet and another set of RCA's or I would be without bass right now.

I had the amp half mounted because I was in the middle of installing it(user error lol) I learned my lesson though

I installed my Sundown SAX 1200d got it tuned the way I like it then broke my RCA's inside the amp's input terminals... I hooked my AQ1200d back up(I had some tsunami RCA's I never used) so I have to send my amp back to DB-r to get the RCA terminals fixed.

I got my refurb SAX 1200d from DB-r it's top notch and looks brand new... It's murdering my BL

I was always a guy who uses only monoblocks for subs, totally forgot about sundowns other amps! This looks like the right fit, 400rms at 4ohms can't get any better than that! And $250, reasonable.. Is the Sub Dual 4 or 2?

2 BL's will be plenty loud off of 1100 watts each, while still sounding good. If you have the cash get BTL's because you have room to upgrade if you want.

When you start this build I can't wait for the build log

I own a BL now and if I upgrade it will be to a btl because my BL is EASILY the best subwoofer I've ever owned

You can still get the Xcon just gain down the amp...nothing wrong with having to upgrade
