Next Year Blowthrough Build
So what's the new build idea?

Any good looking subwoofers that perform decent?
Lulz, I'd actually prefer you lose the logo. I love an all black look.

I need a box design for an 18" SS XXX
Sent you a PM in case you haven't found anything yet.

Metered my car today :)
Nice score, and at 39hz nonetheless.

- (3) 4" aeros ok for fi bl 15?
So you'd run 29" long aeros in a 4ft^3 box tuned to 33hz?- Lowest inductance 18's?
The LMS Ultra is right up there towards the top, so long as we're talking about real subwoofers and not 18" midbasses.- Kicker SoloX 18
In for wiring pics.- TeamSSA member ICON, team members check in
Lots of team members...- Don't hate on me but....
Reminds me of the Hertz HX cones. http://130.com.ua/published/publicdata/AUTO/attachments/SC/products_pictures/Car-subwoofer-Hertz-HX-380_enl.jpg- t/s specs vs actual sound quality
No mention of motor topology or inductance in the OP?- Soo... sub choices with avail room... 18-20ft^3
The only issue I see is being able to fit everything on the front of the box. You have the depth to make the interchangeable port easy, but it just takes up more space than normal on the face of the box.- (3) 4" aeros ok for fi bl 15?
Three will be fine. Required port area is based on the air displacement potential of the system. If you can make the sub physically max out in a 3.5ft^3 box and a 5ft^3 box, there's no need for more port area with the larger box.- Box specs for SA-8
Lol, that's a big step right there.- 3/4 inch plywood ok for second baffle?
More rigid than MDF, I'd say go for it.- Soo... sub choices with avail room... 18-20ft^3
If you got the D2 coils, series wired each sub individually, then paralleled them together...yes.- 15 bl in silverado ext. cab
I'd had good results in my 4-door Dodge with subs forward and port up on passenger side. Did a 151 outlaw with a Sundown 1500D that way.- BL 15 spl enclosure
Agreed, with all posts.- Soo... sub choices with avail room... 18-20ft^3
You'd have to seal it off to get the best results. Just use MDF to make an extra baffle that'll fill in all the big gaps the best that you can, then just use some expanding foam behind it to fill in the small spaces. Three 15" Zcons would be great is using a box that's doubled up all around. You'll have about 10-10.5ft^3 after all displacements. Even Xcons would work well in that situation, and would probably do better with the power you're using.- Sealed 15
Why not do a ported 12" in that space instead? You're going to need good low-end reinforcement with an open-air environment like a boat, so ported and tuned in the low 30's might be a good thing to look at.- Soo... sub choices with avail room... 18-20ft^3
Is that height all the way to your roof? Using the median height out of the two you listed(32.5"), you only have 16.7ft^3 to work with, and that's before any displacements and with only one layer of 3/4" material. Double the baffle and you're looking at 16.34ft^3, double up all around and you're looking at 14.34ft^3.- box for 2 custom 12's
Do you have the t/s for MT's? I'd bet big money it's a lower qts, lower vas type of sub(like most all monster subs). You seem to forget that there are no readily available t/s specs out for MT's, thus people rely on others' experiences to help them out. - Eclipse SW8000 Excursion Vid
