DIY Enclosures?
Yes, we are upgrading our website currently so we can just do all orders through that. We are currently still in the "planning" and "changing" stages though. PM and Email are the easiest ways to get in contact with us, but we do receive a large amount of both every day and that does make things very hard to keep up with. All though for custom builds we will still have to send an invoice the idea with the website is that it will help keep everything better organized. Another issue we had was staff. We have simply been understaffed for a while. I did bring in a few new people to help with out and that has seemed to help a lot with keeping up with emails and PMs. Still not perfect by any means, but every time we run into an issue I do my best to find a resolution for it.

Obsidian audio?
Most of us who have some sort of program that we trust, are the ones that developed something from scratch. And before everyone starts asking for that to be published or produced. The system I have is far from marketable even for free. lol

Obsidian audio?
It really doesn't even do that... the real responses aren't like the graphs at all when we measured them. These days I don't use a box program for anything more than calculating port tuning as they are so often separated by a big margin from what really happens. not bashing or anything, but if you dont see the graph, how do you figure what tune you want? do you base it on the music you listen to, how low you wanna get, or spl? In reality when tuning an enclosure, you should take the acoustical properties of the vehicle and sub/port placement into consideration.

DIY Enclosures?
Just let us know if we can be of any help, and thanks. I hopping this opens up the larger enclosure options more now. We had several clients want quad 15 enclosures or similar and there is no cheap way to ship that lol.

DIY Enclosures?
Yea, I was thinking that as we are getting a decent amount of emails/pms about that. I'm thinking if it is just a single port setup I don't think we will charge. However, if it becomes an issue we have to revisit that and adjust the pricing to reflect those cuts.

DIY Enclosures?
We can do birch. Obviously there would be a cost, but we only charge the difference in the cost of wood. I had a few PMs about this...Yes this is live and ready for orders..

DIY Enclosures?
Not at this time. I think we are just going to keep that discount for in-house built enclosures.

i would say around 1ft3 should do just fine. Just make sure you have correct port area and tuning for the subs/application and you should be just fine.

DIY Enclosures?
Those will have to be custom quotes. When we start getting into larger sizes, they require various types of bracing and/or baffling to ensure structural integrity. So we can not really just offer straight pricing for those as they will be different for each customer.
-
DIY Enclosures?
Nope, not really. Pricing is based off a 16:1 port area ratio(as a max)...which is the most we typically see for any kind of daily. As long as we are not doing a massive 6ft3 gross enclosure that is really only 2ft3 net I don't see a problem lol.

STAGE 1: $Free Basic package.. All pieces cut to exact size. Sealed or ported options 3D model Assembly Instructions STAGE 2: $15 All Stage 1 plus rounded port edges 45's Bracing 1" wooden dowel recessed into the wood. DIY Enclosures?
Well, I have had a decent amount of interest in these lately. So I'm gauging interest to start offering them full time. For those that do not know what this is. This is basically a pre cut enclosure with all wholes cut that just needs to be assembled. The perks are it drastically cuts shipping down. It allows us to deal with much larger enclosures. The down side is, I have had some wood slightly bent from shipping them. This causes some panels to not line up 100%(all though this is not a huge issues, it can be if you are OCD lol). That is about the only down side I can think of right now. Anyway, let me know what everyone thinks. If we have enough interest I will work up a price setup and start offering them.

600w FCON Prototype
There was no thermal issues, but we wanted to improve power handling a little more because of the market segment, so we improved the cooling. Ah i see what your saying. The 600 means you put more to it market haha... Always a great idea to over build rather then under build. Very excited to see the results of the testing. A 3" coil in this market should do well as you would have the only one for the most part..the other ones are 2.5".

600w FCON Prototype
I'm just curious how they will compare to other comparable drivers. I'm sure the quality will be much better. What was going with the thermal issues to warrant a change? Adjusting for better air flow I'm guessing? Regardless should be a great sub for you all, I have had several of the SSA line up come through the shop for builds. I hope to see these as well, as all the others have impressed us every time.

I might have some laying around actually. Let me check the "scrap" area and see what I have...how long of a section do you need?

Tuning a box
What kind of application?
-
Tuning a box
Can you increase the enclosure size? I would shoot for 3 - 3.3 net not gross.
-
Tuning a box
Yea, I didn't even do the math on it as you can tell that it will be very high. Also, depending on what the goal is, that is a generous amount of port area.
-
Tuning a box
So you have around 3.3ft3 gross right? What is your goal to have for net ft3? What is the goal of the enclosure?

Do you have any carpeting tips? There are a ton of ways to carpet. Basically you have to find one that works with your skill level and the choice of material you use. If you are using a bright color or other thicker materials to wrap an enclosure with, then it is best to inset the side panels 1/4" or even to rabbit cut them to help "hide" the seem as it won't be easy to do. If you are using a more basic carpet like the one on this enclosure you, if you use a very sharp knife and are steady with your hand you can seem right across the middle of the enclosure and no one will ever know.

hhhmmmmmm... This was a built off a design supplied to me. Should work out rather well though. No hating on the pic...I carpeted it at home while watching the playoffs lol... I actually do this a lot so I don't spend all my time at the shop.

ShiZZZoN's Build #2 The Epicness of 2011-2024
It affects MECA as a whole. It has been no secret that they have been slowly raising cost. Most hosts do not want to pay the lower price much less an increased/inflated charge. MECA is not the only one that has been doing this. The majority of the orgs have raised the cost of the show. The real issue is that hosts see no return on shows. They pay for everything upfront and see very little in return at all. This goes for all orgs as well. However, I am aware of one person's efforts to solve that issue this year. Hopefully it works and nets more shows.

ShiZZZoN's Build #2 The Epicness of 2011-2024
I work closely with all of the main orgs actually. My extreme ties are with USACi though. I pretty much grew up in this industry so I have been around about everyone one from time or another. I contact Ron, and he passed on some info. He said he is not the one who deals with the audio side. If you all have any contact info for this show to help get a sound off going please forward it to me. With only a month's notice I'm not how this show would turn out, but building relations for next year are always a plus. If you or anyone wants to know more about my "connections" or any other info feel free to message me and call me.(phone number is on my web site.. lol)
