mr.taxi, Knu is misleading the consumer in saying it is shielded 4 times. A shield is worthless unless its grounded somehow IMO. its not about if the cable will get rid of noise or not..for the most part at least, its more about the marketing. Just like you have strong feelings again Bose or even Monster for that matter. yes there are downsides to grounding the shield. I could list them myself too, but i think in this situation it would be a good thing for them to grounded at least on one end.

yes it still has a shield, but it is not functional! for that cable it needs to be grounded atleast once for it to work. its merely looks. I love how Knu's lawyers worded their site: no mention if its a functioning shield or not...cant sue sorry.

So I cracked open some Knukonceptz Krystal 4channel RCA cables that I just took out of my car(replaced with my own I made ). and as I suspected, quadruple shielding my ass! None of the shields are grounded, I looked on both ends all look the same 2 wire conductor per rca. I cut that black heat wrap off on all of them. 1 side: other side: close up: they all look the same as this just different color conductor wires. here is another shot of the Knu where the pants meets actual cable insulator Looking for shielded RCAs? dont buy those...

I got some new wire the other day, Found a pretty sick deal on wire(RCA cable). I ordered mine last friday as an impulse buy, it came in today. Looks fine to me. Plenty skinny and flexible. Only thing I dont like is it doesnt have a wire going down the shield like a foil shield would have, just personal preference, this braid should do a better job shielding than the foil would. The actual conductor looks about a 24 gauge. I am sorry there is no warranty, no matter which options you get. That is the risk you took when purchasing the BTL. Should have bought a pair BLs if you wanted warranty. Recones run about ~$100(give or take) plus shipping if i remember correctly.

I did mess up a quite a bit, i didnt take the necessary precautions i was suppose to when using gold connectors, and i used too much solder.

I am a little confused. So a bandpass enclosure(gearing more at 4th orders on up) basically just acts as a Mechanical Filter? Isnt it just meant to play that bandwidth solid so its not like a roller coaster peak and valleys in that bandwidth range....like the octaves you mention would mean there is no set 1 note tuning you could essentially play different notes as long as it falls in that octave.

I also discovered(after i wrote review) that Vmoda intentionally made them not to play real high because it would fatigue your ears quickly
