  1. The review will be soon...as far as video, I don't know how much it would be interesting to everyone, it's firing down so you can't really see it. I'll see what I can come up with soon....
  2. Hey there everyone....I have a few friends who do a little free "tweak and test" thing for SPL every couple weeks. The next one is Saturday, August 20th (weather permitting of course.) It will be from 4pm-9pm at the Brunswick car show. The city holds a car show/crusin gig every Saturday at Laurel Square Shopping Center. They have their own space to do test and tune, just look for the EZ-UP tent and some loud cars around it. The address is 1733 Pearl Road, Brunswick Ohio 44212. It's about 18 miles south of Cleveland and about 20 miles north of Akron. Of course its free. They will be having a competition there in the fall where all money paid in to compete gets paid back to the winners. These guys don't do it for the money, just because they love loud cars. These guys and I have built a few IASCA and Db Drag World Record holders in the past, so we love our loud cars. So come on down, they'll have the meter there, and test your car for free! Or, if you just love to hang out and talk stereo, that's cool too. There's usually a bunch of cars to look at for the car show too, so it's fun all around. By the way, they aren't too bad about it being loud, as long as you aren't playing it with the doors wide open for a long time. So come on out and have fun! I'll try to update the thread when we get close to the date so everyone knows if it will look like the weather is going to let us be there..... Thanks, Mick.
  3. Thanks, stock look is what I went for, other than the carpet of it is much cleaner than my hooptie van's carpet is...lol. I'm going to give a full opinion on sound quality/output...I used to do a lot of USAC and IASCA competitions so I have a pretty good idea what sounds good...
  4. Thanks! I have it in, and it ROCKS!...I'll be writing a review of it soon...
  5. Getting close to hearing it at this point!
  6. A little comparison pic of my old Exile Audio Shift 12 next to the little beast
  7. So I get home Friday from work and this beautiful sight was in front of my door...
  8. Once I get a nicer vehicle again, you can bet I'll be ordering more equipment from you!
  9. Just wanted to write a quick thanks to SSA here...preordered a Sundown SA-8 a few weeks ago...Got an e-mail confirming the order and payment was made almost immediately. Received my sub today. LOVE it so far! Main thing I have to say is your communication during the sale is TREMENDOUS...got the confirmation e-mail, a status order letting me know you were waiting on Sundown to get them, and then a status update saying they were shipped including the tracking number! Great service guys, and I'm already trying to talk a few friends into trying some of the SSA subs now! Thanks, Mick S.
  10. Got mine today! REALLY quick shipping! Thanks! I'll be posting my review of it soon!
  11. Here's a couple different styles...
  12. Most car audio shops carry an extended bolt for GM side terminals...they usually also have a threaded part and nut to add more connections on too. Usually only a few dollars.
  13. I won't ask about when it will be here...just glad to hear they are coming! Can't wait!
  14. Great numbers! The crazy part of the video is seeing that the other guy was only .2 behind...had to kill him to lose that one...lol
  15. Thanks...that should hopefully give me what I need!
  16. And to add...do some people take the forum maybe a little too seriously? Possibly...but most guys on here seem like they genuinely want to help others out. The fact that someone can come on here and spout off and then say "yo chill the fuck out delete the account for all i care" shows how little they care about what most of us have a lot of love for, maybe even an obsession!
  17. I think the laziness of not using punctuation along with the bad spelling isn't the problem, it's the fact that it makes it a tough read...It's difficult for someone to answer a question accurately when you don't understand the question because it makes no sense!
  18. It had mounting depth, mounting diameter, outside diameter, etc, but I need a little more info unfortunately. I'm trying to figure out if I have enough face height with an angle to fit them. Thanks for the reply though!
  19. This may sound strange, but I was wondering what would be involved with getting more details on the actual dimensions of the ZCON and XCON 15" Basically like the magnet diameter, thickness of it, etc. (an actual technical drawing would be great too!) Reason I ask is I am working on a design for my friend's car and have enough cubic feet but limited height to work with, so I'm trying to see if I can make one of these fit. I want him to be an SSA guy if possible! Thanks in advance!
  20. Sexy little beast! Never heard an XCON yet and these pics make me want one!
  21. I actually ordered an SA-8 for myself. As soon as it comes in I'll give my opinions. Just knowing the average person (I worked at a shop for a long time so I saw what people wanted a lot) a single 10" or 12" gives the all around sound, output, and impact most people crave. I am going the SA-8 in mine only because it's a center console enclosure, so it's right there near me so the impact will be more. Admittedly though, I have yet to hear the SA-8 so I can't say for sure it wouldn't be enough for him.
  22. I think I have to agree with //M5 here. For the average person, a 10" will do what most people want, especially in a trunk. From all the reviews everyone gives, something like a DCON 10 sounds like a great option, small enclosure size (1-1.25 ported), good sound quality. Just my 2 cents.
  23. We used to do a lot of full USAC shows with our shop vehicle, and never lost a show. We used to steal a mono signal off one of the front amps, and use an l-pad to attenuate the center. Worked phenomenally with no other processing. The trick was keeping the level very low, just enough to sense some sound, but not too much that you knew where it was coming from. We used to get a lot of great imaging scores and comments from the judges about how great the depth was, without hurting the width. Like I said, watch the level of it and you will be fine. I realize some people may not like it, but give it a try. You may really like it. Heck, you can even hook up a speaker in a small enclosure first before you try cutting a hole for it, that way if you don't get what you like out of it, no harm done...
  24. There's actually a bunch of my old install pics in my gallery, but most are of large systems with walls, but there is one trunk with subs firing back and another install firing forward but you can't see the front of the box.
