1999 Jeep Cherokee, $1000 budget. audio restoration
Have you pulled the doors and actually checked the front speakers? If not, I would double check the size of your front speakers. My buddy has an 01 Cherokee and he had 6.5" front speakers stock even though Crutchfield said 5.25". That being said, if you do have the 6.5" and don't mind waiting a week or so, I should have these in my Blazer and reviewed by next Thursday or Friday. Also, I don't remember the mounting depth, but it was very shallow in that door, so you may wanna measure the maximum depth you have as well.

Can someone from DC Power Contact ME!!!!
Ironic statement You act as though DC was sending the customer an off-the-shelf production product that should be readily available. It's clear that this wasn't the case, but the OP was quite vague in all of his responses to try and hide this fact and taint the reputation of the company. Was it an excessive wait? Yes, absolutely, there's no doubting this. Was it a product that no other company would dare undertake? I assume yes, or the OP would have demanded a refund a year ago and taken his work elsewhere. Should this incident dissuade you from doing business with DC Power? I would say no, so long as you're not doing a one-off custom. It sounds as though they are/were understaffed and under-equipped to handle such a product themselves (though I believe I read they are looking to get the tools necessary to do this in house?). Having been around when they first joined the boards, I can say for sure that they would not have been invited to SSA had they not a stellar reputation and customer service. This is a sad incident but I believe Rob and Kyle have learned a huge business lesson from this and I don't think you'll see this issue again.

Can someone from DC Power Contact ME!!!!
But you can't even get this handled so why would I trust any amount of my money with you? It sounds to me like this was an intricate one-off piece that DC Power wanted to ensure would be perfect for the customer the first time it was installed by the customer, so it would make sense that it takes some time and reworking to get it perfect. It's a shame to see the consistent fail in DC's suppliers and outside shops and, while that is out of their control, I think damage control could have been done sooner by apologizing for their inability to fill the order due to these shortcomings in their third-party affiliates. The fact that DC kept the customer believing the order would be filled in a timely manner is really what made a bad situation a horrible one.

1999 Chevy Blazer ZR2
Thanks! The rear axle and trans are good to go. I just got the vehicle back from having the front suspension done and they messed up the boot on one of the new CV shafts so it gets to go back in on Monday.... I'm surprised how long mine lasted because I've noticed the same thing with regards to the 100,000 mile mark and I've taken mine to Silver Lake and other offroad parks on more than one occasion without a tranny cooler. Thanks! I may be re-doing the substage for a slightly larger ported box ...

That sucks Big time!! Yeah it was rough...$3500 to rebuild and build up the rear axle and transmission. That's what happens at 165,000 miles though and you're having fun in an icey parking lot... I've got a Detroit TrueTrac locker in the rear now and a Superior shift kit in the transmission so I don't worry about either of those anymore I'm just glad I had the foresight to have that much money set aside for such an incident...

1999 Chevy Blazer ZR2
I haven't been real active on here lately...mostly because I haven't had any money so it's very taunting to read on here and see what some people are doing. Here's why I haven't had any money: The above also destroyed the transmission so I had to rebuild the transmission as well. Those both happened last spring but I just now noticed I didn't put them up on here. Then just a few months ago, I noticed that both of the CV shafts off the front diff. were spewing grease and one of the ball joints had a lot of play so I just finished rebuilding the front suspension so I've been staying poor In good news though, I've finally replaced my 8 year old, CD-skipping Alpine! 1999 Chevy Blazer ZR2
Well, I finally bit the bullet and decided I wanted my cargo space back. That meant the 15" had to go. I've replaced it with a 10" Dayton Audio Reference High Output driver. It's going into a 1 ft^3 sealed enclosure that was spray-bedlined with Raptor Bedliner. New Setup: This side will be against the wall and bolted down so it'll never be seen. Here's the finished product: I'm looking to add another wall for support and to look a bit sleeker below the SAX100.2 as well as a hidden one in the back under the 1000D.

New toy coming...ICON 12" in a Genesis V8/Tech...
Looks like you're tuned right around 30-31 hz which is good. Here's a link for you to check this stuff yourself: PORT Size calculator. Box is on the smaller side but I'm sure it'll sound good. Don't think you'll have to worry much about port noise either. The only way to know for sure is hook'er up and crank it!

FrostedFlakeJake is a great Buyer!
He was at our meeting spot a little early (which is what I was wanting/hoping) and was right to business. Demo'd the sub for him, talked a bit about our CA experiences, and we were on our own ways. Did I forget to mention he drove 2.5 hours just to pick up this sub? Excellent buyer and would highly recommend doing business with him!

Does anybody here own a Daber sub?
I'm looking to pick up a 10" for my blazer and two 8"s for a buddy's truck and these seem to fit the bill for our applications, but I can't seem to find any sound reviews from people on here. Has anybody demo'd them or heard them at all? I don't doubt the quality of them as they wouldn't be on SSA if they weren't of the highest quality, but I'm just curious about the SQ, particularly in a small/medium sealed box.

Best 15" SPL Sub for Around $200?
I have an older Dual 2 ohm 15" SSA Icon (late '07 model) that would be perfect for ya. I haven't metered it but it's enough to cause very hard breathing to everybody that's sat in it thus far.

Ridn's Expo Build Log
How big and what tuning is that box? Looks only big enough for one of those 15s unless the pictures are taken at bad angles

1999 Chevy Blazer ZR2
Wow...It's been a long time since I've been here! I'm still running the same equipment I've had except I finally got those amps off the box. The BlaZeR2 looks a lot different, however. Amps off the box and bolted to the floor. I've decided I'm going to try and fiberglass a cover to make it look like the opposite side panel w/ the jack cover, thusly keeping a nice, stock look. I used Raptor spray-on bedliner and I'm very, very happy with it! I also debadged the doors of the "LS" logo and the BLAZER emblems. Then came the CB New billet grill It also has dual exhaust (Magnaflow hi-flo cat to a FM40 single in/dual out) but it's not very pictureworthy (no tips ).

I'm done with Sundown..
I don't see how you can expect Jacob, or anyone at Sundown, to get you an invoice for something you bought from someone else? dB-r is not owned, operated, or otherwise controlled by Sundown at all so you need to contact them if you're having an issue.

Worst sub install candidate of the year
I will say I have one install that I'm not proud of at all, but the friend is too much of a cheap-ass to have it done correctly. It's in a Jeep Cherokee and the guy at Best Buy (...) said it was a 5.25" speaker so my friend listens to him over me (who already looked it up online and knew otherwise) because they were cheaper. When they didn't fit I asked him to return them for the right size because there was no clearance between the door panel and the door skin for an adapter but he refused, to save 10 bucks, so I believe it's held in with two-ply cardboard, duct tape, and maybe 2 screws.

I know how that feels - I just lost a good friend this past fall in a car crash. My prayers are with you and just know he's in a better place now, even if it doesn't seem fair.

Sundown Audio's Results
Why aren't those subs in the CRX facing up with ports toward the back? I bet it would net larger numbers if he remade the box(es).
