I'd take a good look at Second Skin or RAAMmat.
  2. I take it you no longer carry the Rainbow speakers then?
  3. Looks like I might wait for the Icon 15" to come out if it's going to be under/around $250 My SAE-1000D is going to want to push more than two mere 12" MTX 4500s...
  4. If the Sundown SAE-1000D amp is in your budget, I'd take a look at that (it's $400 MSRP).
  5. I can't wait til they ship out! I think I speak for everybody when I say that we definitely don't blame you for the delays, as we were told to expect these so there's no huge hurry. I do appreciate the updates though!
  6. 1998 Chevy Lumina LS 2 MTX Thunder 4500's in MTX box Bazooka 500 watt amp Alpine CD player Kicker 5.25"s and 6x9"s ...that's what's still in there too Switching the amp out for a Sundown SAE-1000D...whenever they get in
  7. These will be some very long, full-of-anticipation days
  8. You can't afford the $78.44cdn for a brand new one? That's a helluva tight budget you seem to be working with there...
  9. Payment sent! I can't wait to replace my P.O.S. Bazooka amp!!!
  10. The one on the left.
  11. Sub is in: That's it for this build log
  12. Prepped for paint: Logo's jigged out: Paint's on: Logo painted: Finished!: The last things to do are put the subs and amp in. I'll put those up later today/tomorrow.
  13. I like it Very nice looking, I'm sure it'll be even better once that box is covered.
  14. Besides paint, and putting the amp and sub in, it's done! Wheels are on: I originally had one big MDF door and two hinges...boy was that a bad idea. As soon as I lifted the cabinet back up, the hinges buckled... I cut the door in half and threw four hinges on each side. Now they're nice and stable Doors are on: Speaker templates: Speaker & H.U. holes: As you can see, I made a nice little frame to make the H.U. look prettier Wiring it up: As you can see, the negative terminal was still connected?! That was removed quite quickly; no harm done. Wires all hooked up: It's finished! (and it works!): I puttied every one of the 89 screw holes on this thing so there would be no flaws in the paint. I also puttied around the frame i made for the H.U., as well as every single line where two pieces of MDF meets. I'm extremely happy with how it turned out. Cosmetic work tomorrow (painting, zip tieing the wires in place).
  15. Aye, no aftermarket laying around. I'll throw my kicker grills on them just to make 'em prettier
  16. Ack, someone mind deleting this one? Seems the "server taking too long" still makes a post...
  17. We were given a project in my business management class -- make a business. I decided on doing a car audio shop. I got all the work on the business done early, so I figured I'd go above-and-beyond and build a movable car audio display to show off a bit Here's the build log: I went to Lowes and got two sheets of 3/4" MDF, and had them cut it to spec. (The pictures are quite big if you click 'em... 56K'ers be warned!) The bottom being screwed on: The screws are in!: Counter-sunk ftw: I'll be filling those screw holes with some sort of putty so I can later paint the whole cabinet. The top's on!: The one problem about working with yourself and not having corner clamps is that it's hard to keep the wood in place; go-go duct tape: Ok, the shelving part is finished!: ('07 Hyundai Veracruz in the background ) Time to hinge the big-ass MDF door: And for tomorrow: Wheels: OEM speakers from my '98 Lumina: Kenwood deck: The battery, amp, and sub are still at my friend's house. I should finish the building tomorrow and start painting it. This is the logo I came up with for the business: Let me know what you think

  19. How do you use a monitor if you can't have inputs on it? Are you sure they aren't just hidden behind a piece of plastic or something? Nevermind, just realized these are computer monitors. I'm not sure how to help you there...
  20. Fixed, again... You might want to get those straight audio-neon, you could really f**k someone's system up if they listened to you and wired something down in parallel when you mean series.
  21. * Contest closing date is April 30, 2007 And the days keep craaaawling by.... lol, no kidding. I think the contest should end sooner, perhaps April 7th...

  23. Whoa, damn nice skills there btchn1! If you could get that into photoshop or something and smooth out those lines, etc, and maybe add some coloring it would be amazing!
  24. It doesn't matter what RPMs you're at, your alternator isn't gonna push more than a max of 85 amps, and your sub's amp is capable of drawing much more, ergo you're denying it power that it craves. If you beefed up your alternator, I'd almost guarantee you'd notice the difference by ear alone.
  25. 6500D or 10000D? http://www.soundstream.com/amplifiers-xxx.htm for the rest of ya
