I've heard those are actually pretty good and very reliable if used correctly.

They're just extra terminals so wiring isn't just smashed into one. It's just for easier wiring. Just take your pos and negative and use the outter terminals. Great amp btw. Just bought a refurbished one from db-r.

    Are the type r coaxials?
  4. Ehh not too much money. It's only like 100 difference between the pair. If I don't want the X's when I get them then ill go for the icons. Your right it's a lot of work in car audio but it's fun trying new products!
  5. Damn I don't know man lol I really want those X's but I've always eyed the icons.
  6. going with 10s isn't a bad idea.... but what about Icon 10s as well? I think the xmax is not anywhere near the X seies but hey I was in love with my 12" Icon ported back in the day.... I just got done looking at the icons lol they're definitely a possibility. Still leaning towards the X. Your right the icon is 21mm and the x is ~30mm. Can't remember the exact number. 10s will for sure give me the optimal box and will also allow me to use them in the 2013 fusion. good luck man... On another note, I think you should re-do that baffle though... looks like it might not have a "great" seal..... But I could be wrong Thanks shogen. What pic did you see that made you think that. Is it the top left part of where the sub is? I made sure everything was sealed right.

  8. I don't know lol I dont think i have the power and I'm trying to go with lower priced stuff so I can sell some stuff so I can get some cash back.
  9. Kinda surprised it hasn't sold yet
  10. Kind of bummed out... Sundown now recommends a larger box for their subs. I called up Sundown and talked to Dave, one of their box building guys. He said the X 12 will still be good with the "normal" box requirements, but to really get the suspension and surround moving like it shows in the videos, it will require 2.5 to 3 ft3 for the 12s. I just don't really have the space for that. I've had a 5.25 cubic foot box for the Zcon 12s and it took up the whole damn trunk. Was a bitch to get it in the trunk too lol I feel if I do 2 X series 10s and use the biggest box they recommend and have everything instead of kinda cramming the 12s in I would have a better system. Everything would be optimal with the 10s. Now, if I wasn't leasing my Fusion then I would probably go with the 12s, but my dad works for a ford dealership and can get me into a 2013 Fusion pretty easily. The 2013 Fusion's trunk is a tad smaller. So as of right now I'm thinking 2 10s instead.
  11. Packaging for the Zcon 12 for me was only 6 lbs.
  12. I have used mine so much it has definitely paid for itself. Let me know how you like it. Well my dad bought me a router a few months ago. Never used it yet. The only thing I would need is the jasper circle jig. I found it on PE for $40. My dad did tell me though he bought something that helps me make perfect circles when cutting holes. I don't know what it is though lol
  13. Did you weigh all these subs yourself or is that what the shipping label said?
  14. Ask Alton on here. He designed a box for my 2 12" Zcons and also one for my single 12" Zcon.
  15. Welcome! You definitely came to the right forum to learn how to do things the right way. I wouldn't go with the ebay alts. I've heard they don't do rated. Consider Singer and Tenney (if on budget) also Mechman, ohio gen and DC power. For battery, you should figure out how much current your going to draw. Some suggestive brands would be XS power and Diehard Platinums from Sears. If you plan on facing the subs either front or back, your limited to the max size of a 12". Your space also limits you too. Your looking at some great subs! I have a Zcon 12" for sale and will have a Crescendo bc2000 for sale shortly. If your interested shoot me a pm.
  16. That's what your going to have to find. Go on craigslist, the classifieds or other forums to find used.
  17. Cool thanks! Also what is the weight of the X series subs?
  18. Never!!!! Lol Don't say that!!! Lol I was thinking it would be about the same. I remember him saying the Z v.4 would work good in larger enclosures. Not sure if that would be the same as the X series.
  19. When will the enclosure recommendations be released?
  20. That kinda sucks lol you'll just have to go .5 ohm with your choice of amp or just strap two smaller amps.
  21. Wait don't you have a final ohm load of 2 or .5 ohm?
  22. Ohh alright. Some good options would be aq3500, saz3000 or saz3500. Obviously with all these amps you would have to watch the gain.
