  1. Well, first off, do not use your stereo at all for the next few days until we figure this out. Take the whole stereo out so that's not another variable. Second, once the car is started, can it run for 30min+? if so, the alt is working... How many batts do you have total? OK, now lets get to work here.. I can't help you with parts that may be computer controlled so i can try n help with the more normal parts of the charging system. First, did you fuse the charging cable? if so, is it blown? I would now do this- Unhook battery grounds from battery and connect to charger. Let charger charge this batt up 100% and then trickle charge for a while after that. 10.7 is very bad. Then put batt back in car and drive normally with no stereo on for 1 week. This ELD thing would make since if it's correct.

  5. you should have found us man. TeamRamrod got his van goin in full gear at the show. We metered him doin a 156.4-156.6 between 35-38hz on the windshield. It was awesome to say the least.
  6. it was overly abnoxious.. His entire midshighs sounded as if they were being channeled through a megaphone. Then when the bass came on, it was no where near loud enough to keep up with the megaphone front stage. And with the cone area that's in there, that's no excuse. You want it done right, do it yourself. IF you don't know how to do it and refuse to learn or do not have time, take it to one of us who will actually educate those on what they should do rather than just take your money and experiment with loads of equipment firing in every direction possible.
  7. Got info about situation- My headunit does NOT need to be replaced, only all 3 sets of RCAs are damaged so that's good. All front stage amps were tested and work fine. DC Power forgot to send me mounting hardware for alt so it's coming now. Just got off phone with Air Tech, he says the strut is not leaking fast enough to possibly be the strut itself and there is a 90% chance he can diagnose and repair the leak without removing the strut. Also, i told him what high level of PSI i was using to fill them up to and he told me that's nothing.. don't worry about it. About to leave to have the suspension diagnosed and will post what is found tonight.

  9. run both cables from front to rear batt #1 positive. Parallel both batts together in the rear( keep the fuse out of these cables when doing that) Run your AQ power also to batt #1. Run your AQ ground to batt #2. ground your batts to car ONLY FROM batt #2. No need in fusing between the 2 batts unless u are careless about mounting your cables.
  10. once the video is on youtube, copy the url as follows- u will have www.youtube.com/watch?v= then a bunch of randomness... the last letter in the jumble is the end of the code. so for example, www.youtube.com/watch?v=erkhdrfklsdhsd&sedfhfdljfhsdfjhsdfgjsdfhsd=playerikdhflsdhfsdg The & is not a letter, therefore everything before it is active code. Simply copy n paste it in the posting field and it will auto imbed the video into ur post.

  12. that sounds like something grounded out or a loose connection somewhere! almost impossible to tell when everything burnt up
  13. I learned this with my first wall. Never use 1 part adhesive for vertical bonding in a wall. It's just not strong enough. You want some good 2 part Epoxy resin with glue adhesion. US Composites - Fasco 110. This stuff will bond anything to anything, including replacing your wood glue with it. Although, i still use Titebond in areas where gravity does not make it run.
  14. maybe i should reword that.. worded it in the totally wrong direction.... In this situation, with the SSF set way lower than the tuning frequency is, the potential for the impedance curve to be very low below tuning is great. Therefore, the subs are probably accepting lots of power below tuning when they shouldnt be if it was set right.
  15. remember too.. many amps on the market produce more power at the lower end of the frequency range.. So, having the SSF set very low can also be the result of thermal failure, not just mechanical failure.

  17. in and out of protect? most likely RCA problem.. Hook up an external source directly to amp such as ipod, etc... If it still does it, it's damaged.
  18. Sorry I havent been as active in this log lately, been gettin mad work done.. My DC Power 270XP alt is in I have placed order for All Crescendo front stage equipment I have also ordered 12v cooler Just ordered 30 fuses and 6 in-line fuse holders for 40 runs Just ordered almost 300 bolts for all ring terminals and fuses Just ordered all RCA cables Sealing wall is 85% complete Working on bracing wall right now All powerground blocks are cut, drilled n tapped right now. Waiting on more aluminum to make the last 4 battery terminals. Still have to order custom decals and voltmeters and that's it. Pics will be up in about 10 days.
  19. don't know why it's tripping... I do know the more times a circuit breaker trips, the more often it will trip in the future because it weakens it. Circuit breakers also react slower than fuses do too. I personally wouldnt use a circuit breaker in place of where a fuse should be. Now, the amp is seeing 12.6-7 once it trips. That means it no longer sees the alternator... The amp is probably going into protect once the breaker trips because of low voltage drop once it's only power source is a battery. If you have an ammeter, i'd set it to peak hold right at the circuit breaker and play it until it trips and see what current was flowing through there.
  20. how does the circuit breaker trip then the amp go into protect? The breaker is killing the circuit so if ur amp is in protect, then it's still getting power from somewhere which sounds dangerous.
  21. TEAM Eye Aye Kay! Ok guys, let's get the weekend planned right now so iwe know what to do, where to go, etc... I am leaving Louisville and going up to Indy Friday. Where am i going? I am booking a hotel for Friday and Saturday at the Ramada Limited. As far as i know.. i guess i'll just drive up to my Hotel and surf SMD some until i get pissed off.. then probably watch the Limited cable on tv for about 3 minutes.. then walk outside, stare at my car for a while just begging to be turned on.. then walk back in the room.. Take a db shit, then call David about 9 times until I convince him to come down.. then probably stalk Casey for a while until I tell him i'm behind him... Then probably call Chop and meetup with him somewhere.. Then say somethin off the wall to Chuck for about 10minutes so he gets mindfucked that night.. Then probably show my install to Senchez and his family and after i leave have them talk about how crazy i am.. Then that's about it for Friday. So, besides that, do we have any plans for Friday?
  22. If you really want to learn more about what you are or aren't hearing, you need a pressure meter. Just because you aren't competing doesn't mean it's not a tool you do not need. I owned pressure meters for quite a while before competing and I learned a lot about my car and how it functions. Just by having that experience, I was able to greatly increase it's output even on an audible level without buying anymore equipment to achieve such goals.
