  1. First of all thanks for not forgetting about me Second holy crap that is an awesome price but I can forsee a few issues: I'm only gonna be running 1 190A alt. Plus where would I find a fuse holder that would fit that size wire + grommets to go through firewall and terminals for battery. Seems like overkill but for that price its berry tempting...
  2. Hey guys, As mentioned I'm soon to be upgrading my system and Id like to get your opinions on if I'm on the right track here. Ill start off by what I already have: Car: 2000 Honda CR-V Battery: XS D5100R Big 3: Done with 1/0 Wiring: 2 Runs of 4 gauge to amps Amps: Rockford Fosgate T1000bd and T400-2 Speakers: 2 Alpine type S's up front and 2 JBL GTO 628's in the rear Sub: SSA Xcon D2 15 in a sealed enclosure. As expected I have bad Voltage drop down into the 11's. I will be strengthening my electrical shorty. Short term goals: 1. Add another Xcon and port the enclosure. I am considering doing a wall and sealing off behind and around the rear seats. 2. Replace the 2 runs of 4 gauge with 1 run of 1/0 Gauge to an additional battery 3. Add said battery (XS3400 or XS3100?) in the wheel well to strengthen current electrical Long term goals: 1. Switch to higher power handling speakers in the front and switch to components. Eliminate the rears. 2. Purchase another battery for the rear 3. Purchase a Rockford Fosgate T2500bdcp 4. Replace stock alternator with a Singer 190A Alternator Questions: 1. What battery's to choose for the rears? Iv'e noticed that its not recommended to get different battery sizes. Ultimately it is best to run all identical battery's. But here's the thing. I didn't want to risk not being able to fit the D3400 in the front so I stuck with the D5100R. Now I know the D3100 is a better battery and can hold more charge than the D3400 but im worried that because its so different from the D5100R that it will cause me problems down the road. Therefore I want to go with the D3400's but i'm not sure that they will be enough. This is the main thing I need help with. 2. How many runs of 1/0 Gauge? Would one run from the front battery to the rears be enough? I would wire the 3 in parallel. 3. How to run Grounds? How many grounds to the frame? This is what I think: Both amps to battery negative in rear. Battery negative to Frame Battery negative to front battery. Also not sure how this would work with 2 battery's in the rear. I would think everything connected to the one battery and the second one also. All power to 1 positive terminal and all grounds to 1 negative terminal. Let me know what you guys think.

    welcome to ssa
  4. Even better idea, thanks
  5. do you mean can put all the parts that come with the recone in, but the sub still remains a v1? Yes it is a V1 motor. The recone is only the coil and soft parts which are very similar to the v1 anyway. sorry for thread jacking u guys. but quick question. what parts come in a recone?
  6. thanks!
  7. do you mean can put all the parts that come with the recone in, but the sub still remains a v1?
  8. Would it be possible to do a v2 re cone on a v1?
  9. Yea I wanna do a wall. Why would I want to seal off the back of the box? I thought u do seal it of in the front. If both subs and port are facing forward what difference would it make if its sealed off behind too?Sorry if that was unclear, I mean seal off the back from the front so yea at the front side build around that and seal it off.Ahhh OK now I gotcha, I was gonna say that makes no since but neither does audio some times
  10. Nice video not bad, how much of a difference is it if u have the window completely open?
  11. Cool thanks for the input...got a video?
  12. err, some of us aren't that juvenile. I could give a rats ass about the stupid thing called a "trick".I asked a serious question. To answer your question, if I have to choose between a decent all around sounding set up and more hair movement then I will choose better sq. The main purpose of the set up is a daily driver so It wouldn't make much since for it to be a hair trick box. I didn't realize the impact of the lower frequency tuning or the fact that ur supposed to tune lower
  13. These are the kinds of tips im looking for. I'm not willing to sacrifice that much sq for the trick And about sealing off the wall, I can figure that out later on
  14. Appreciate the advice. I didn't realize how big of a difference a few hz would make. Cuz I know a lot of guys tune to 32-33

  16. Lmao Quit playin This exact thread is about how to get hair tricks. I started this to get an idea of what it would take to get one. And let's all be honest hair tricks are freaking sweet! And yes I really wanna be able to do one. My entire build is not devoted to just hair tricks. I'm too used to my current set up, and I wanna go louder. And when I do get louder....I want to do hair tricks
  17. Well this is going to be sort of a long term project. Right now my electrical would not be able to support another amp anyways. I'm gonna need probably 2 batteries and probably an HO alt. Unless I get an external ssf I'm stuck at 28hz so I'm stuck around 30hz for tuning anyways. I Probably should of mentioned before that this is also going to be a daily driver. I don't see my self listening to it full blast all the time or going for numbers on the meeter but anything can happen. I would however like for it to be musical. I listen to just about all kinds of music. Probably at a reasonable volume. So there may be a conflict with tuning...I have never had a ported box so I'm not sure about frequencies. I started this thread to see how much getting these hair tricks would end up costing me. If I have to seriously break the bank then maybe I'll just throw in the towel. Just want to get a good idea of what i may be getting myself into.
  18. 2 15's walled on 2 T1000 should get decent hair movement, but the install will determine that. What could I do to the install to get the most out of it?
  19. Wasn't sure how to name that are other than to say trunk. What amp/s should I use. Will the 1 or 2 t100's be good enuff? I'm guessing u guys are gonna say more power and more cone area but I don't wanna go too crazy as I don't wanna spend too too much
  20. not sure what u mean by ski pass but its a hatch back/suv (2000 honda cr-v) ill get the box through the trunk/gate/whatever. most likely sealed off and port and subs facing forward
  21. my trunk can fit 18 cubes total minus subs, wood ect... how do u think it would do just on the t1000 and 2 15's?
  22. so my ultimate goal is to get hair tricks. after that im good. i tried with my current set up (15"xcon sealed in 3 cubes) and i can get a tiiiinnnyyy bit of movement with the window almost comepletly closed. sad i know. im wondering what i need to do to get a half decent hair trick. what i have in mind is to get another 15 and do a wall behind my rear seats. maaaaaaayyyybbeee 18's. i know the bigger the better but since i already have one, might as well add rather than start over. so yea, i wanna build a wall with 2 15's both subs and port above back rests (will be keeping seats in and up not folded down). i already have 1 t1000 amp. with that and another 15 would that be enough? i was also thinking about selling the t1000 and getting 1 t2500. let me know what u guys think
  23. looks good man, nice touch with the zip ties....cleans it up real nice

sorry bro, havent been getting notifications when someone posts....i really like it. i cut off the cigarette lighter plug and wired it to my amp and it works pretty good. idk if its just me but i think it feels a tad slow...im not sure if its how the actual current draw is or what. its not slow slow just idk, i thought it would be absolutly instant. im no expert. steve said it takes 2 milli seconds or something like that to do a sweep from one end to the other so it might just be me. other than that i love it. at first i thought it was really big but im ok with it now
