I just picked up a 2nd RL-i8 D4 from Mike. FedEx estimates delivery of next Tuesday. Guess I'll be working on a new sealed enclosure this weekend.

I just re-read that statement about screwing and not gluing. It's almost guaranteed there's a leak, however minor, if they're not using glue and/or silicone.

I haven't done a "standard" port yet, but the T-Box I built sounds awesome. It's perfect for a LSQ installation. I'm going to a sealed pair of RL-i8s soon for straight SQ though. Both enclosure types sound great with the RL-i8.

I might be selling mine. Just picked up a 2nd RL-i8 from Mike, but it's missing the gasket. Might as well ditch the gasket from my first one. Are you in a hurry?

No offense, but you're comparing a known SQ sub like the RL-p versus an unknown AA Havoc. Nothing against the Havoc, but I haven't heard anyone complain about the RL-p. There's a reason why audiophiles like Sean (///M5) enjoy the SoundSplinter subs.

I'm not to sure on max dimensions I need it to fit in my trunk of a grand am. I'm also not sure on sealed or ported, I mainly listen to rap and some rock. I'd say its a 40/60 split. And I dont understand what sound preference means. I'm sorry, but... damn.

As far as cutting holes for speakers/terminals, nothing beats the Jasper jig with a plunge router. You can get the jig from Parts Express.

Are there any high end audio stores near you? I know of some near DC...not sure if that's where you are in MD though.Tweeter, I guess. Hell, that's all you had to say.
