  1. Well they were banned from carstereos.org, caraudio.com, here, caraudiojunkyard.com, etc. They move to greener pastures until something goes wrong and they have the members turn against them.
  2. Hehe... at least it's not an 01+ model. I had to take out the entire rear area, seats, side panels, etc... just to get the rear deck cover off. I'd hate to work in an install bay and see an 01+ Civic roll in for rear speaker replacement. Heck... the fronts are those clip-in plastic deals with the almost square hole behind them. You HAVE to cut and make a baffle unless someone makes a plastic adapter or some sort. But yah... a 96' is no problem! Running power wire is oh so easy... speaker install is a breeze... and wire tucking is easier than the 01+ models. Oh power wire is done. Randy and I ran 4/0 through the fire wall and under the drivers side panels.
  3. Forgot to mention my US Acoustics USA 600F, gotta love big A/B ZED Audio amps!
  4. As I am sure someone will mention it, why not run your components active off the 100.4? It has good crossovers and you could dial in the front stage better, instead of being restricted to the crossover settings of the one that came with them. And you could individually control the gain to the tweeters and mids. The other option (only since you mentioned you would possibly get a second RL-i8) would be odd since they are only available in dvc 4 ohm right now. Meaning I don't think the 100.4 is warrantied to be run at 2x 2ohm mono, but it might work, that is a Jacob call.
  5. Jacob, since you are a civic specialist, you think you could do the install on my '96?
  6. I vote slot port, big sub needs big air, and you want big output, so the less restriction on that air the better.
  7. There are a good number of us who have an RL-i 8. Honestly I feel it is a must have sub regardless if you need it or not. Anyway, like Sean said, Kent or Mike would probably be the best resource for those power levels and box design for your goals. The crazy 8's class used to be big in MD but I have not seen it around in a while.
  8. I agree with Sean. It should be fine. That amp can pull some serious current and I wish I had a few of them.
  9. Keep up the good work!
  10. If I had more experience in this department I would offer up some suggestions, but I don't
  11. I regret going with a Cadence Z800 over the A7HC, because the A7 was a sick amp and it would have been more useful down the road. I also regret selling the only MAW-10 we had here, would have been perfect to squeeze in our little movie room. I sold a few original SoundStream amps, the most recent being the 164, clean strong little amp.
  12. Welcome to SSA!

  15. Kyle and A-V have joined SSA! Kyle is a great guy and has been very helpful and informative for years. Stop by the AV section and say hello.
  16. Randy, you coming to the competition?
  17. Careful or you will be like Ramos.
  18. All MAW-15's are dual 4. Ig you need single 4 you could look towards the MJ 18 SVC4.
  19. If you are worried about the power maybe the Q with the BP option is an idea.
  20. x-overdistortion might have an idea as to what is going on.
  21. Ok great! Now just need Jim to find out.
  22. Ok I muffed with the settings some, see if it works.
