Damn Kent, I would love one of those puppies. We are having problems with Maxie, she has not dealt well since Arthur got here. We are pondering a companion for her.

Welcome to the IHoP
I am glad you call this home. As for that post, Mark (ssaudio) was giving me crap for being notorious for these long rants, usually because I sit on it for a while and then when it needs to be said I say a great deal. But I take offence to anything negative said about SSA in all fashions.

We need a review please
Guys just a heads up, the ICON will take a little bit to break in. So if you are doing a review, make break it up into 2 parts. Initial and full.

I was in Hawaii in 1985. I remember it perfectly, but I know it has changed a great deal since then. But my favorite was the black sand beach.

Opinions wanted
2 15" subs should be able to have a great deal of output, and there are plenty of dual 15" Q installs.

Under normal loads and listening, the Orion is not bad at all. But open it up and give it some clean signal, it is a different beast.

SPL build Northern Va
The build went great!! Randy and Josh were a monster help, even drunk and googlely eyed and ripping burger farts, these two can run circles around most installers. The first box syndrome is pretty good. Thank you to Randy and Josh and the car port and the beer and the carne asade. We did not get the mids or the tweets, but some freaking how the 4/0 made it under the inner plastic panels! The Civic is easier to work on then the Explorer. As for the car, there were two ideas as to what direction to progress based on my score next weekend. We could go small pressure box aero port, or larger box slot port. More power is needed along with bigger battery and the new HU that should be here today or tomorrow. Plus the PG Bass Cube needs to make an appearance, been in retirement for too long.

- Scott need your help on a damaged speaker
Thank you denim. Again sorry about the bs in the other thread. Its ok, I can understand your frustration, and I wish you luck with UPS.- We need a review please
How would you compare it to the RLp 12 I know you have use 1 in the past. 2nd with only 800wrms which way would you go 1-12 sealed or maybe 1 10 ported. I do like the sound of sealed. But I trust what you have to say I have not been around in a while but I have taken your advice in the past. Thanks MJ I have not tested the ICON against my RL-p. I love both subs, but they are somewhat different in design, I do have a triple stack RL-p, but after that they really don't share much in common. With 800watts, that is plenty for both sealed or ported. After some testing and box adjustment for sealed design, I really like the ICON 12 in a .9 to 1.1 cube box. The pair of 10's ported would be a good mix of output and SQ when space is an issue. They are some of the beefiest 10's out now. Is 800wrms total enough for 2 10s ? I like my amp and until it pops I dont want to buy a new one. It is enough, the ICON does not need loads of power to do the job. But I feel a single sub might make more use of the power as stated by Scott above.- Scott need your help on a damaged speaker
It will work out, you choose a great company and it is good that you came here for help instead of unassociated websites.- New Street A System.. Need Opinions!
As stated above power will make a difference. For this season, I don't have the money to dump into huge amplifiers, so I am just trying to test and push the Mach5 and have fun doing it. - Scott need your help on a damaged speaker
