I was going, would have expected a month ago when I was aware of this show, but still something has not arrived that was ordered for the previous show on the 28th of sept.

When you know you're good.... I don't always model speakers, but when I do I already know what they are going to do. Stay loud my friends.

Thanks for that info, always nice to have unbiased feedback from someone using the subs. If you want, you can lean a little smaller than the Icon enclosures.

Much of transient response will be affected by the enclosure, both the Icon and Xcon have a great deal of cone control in the right enclosure.

Haha, I just replied on CA.com saying: If sealed is the direction you want to go and that is the power you plan to run, I would suggest checking out the Xcon if you are leaning SSA. Not that the Icon is bad sealed, far from it, just that the Xcon is a little stronger sealed. Yep. Caught the response lol. I'm not set on sealed or ported. Lol hispls and I were talking about a crazy aperiodic enclosure with two vents tuned to different frequencies, but I don't want to make my box builder have an aneurism trying to figure it out. Both the XCON and ICON look like extremely fast subs from what I could pull up on YT. I suppose I'm just a little overwhelmed by their ratings seeing as how the ICON sits right at what my amp is capable of doing and the XCON exceeds it. Just want to make sure that they won't be begging for more power if I give them less than rated, that's all. What do you mean by fast? Like Zoom Zoom? I am not the best resource on ABC boxes. As for power rating, don't sweat it too much as it is not at all a requirement to match rating of subwoofer to output wattage of amplifier. The Xcon does not need gobs of power to sound quite good sealed.

This model was not initially intended as a shallow mount, but it is more mounting depth friendly than anything else past or present SSA.

Great news to hear you are liking the Gcon's so far and have seen a substantial upgrade from prior options. Ok, as for the specs, the "optimal" specs are a mixture of where I prefer, where modeling them gives a nice response curve and where the user gains a little efficiency and maybe a pinch of later roll off. Now, for most installs that have power on the upper range of the speaker's comfort zone, the standard enclosure design suggestions are the best direction to go for. With your amp and goals, I think the Khaotik Enclosure will serve you well, but if you would like to reach up into the 2.5 or 2.75 range per, DC Creations is a great option for a custom enclosure. Largely due to our great Tech Team and above average knowledge base of the members, we do have a good amount of silent members who join up to just read, but never post. I am on the site 7/365, but really can only depend on our great mod team, the spam filtering of the forum, the captcha system, and the ever increasing database of ban filters I am constantly adding to.
