  1. Looks great, and yes, poor V-dub.
  2. I would not want to touch the wiring.
  3. Looks nice, maybe Jacob should offer that option.
  4. WIth the exception of a few over at DIYMA I have not heard anything negative-- is it safe to say that this is typical of a few guys over there? I guess so, not sure is any psychoacoustics are coming into play or not.
  5. I wish more people understood this.
  6. I am sorry, but one member, on a site this size and this old, does not make it as a whole look in any sort of manner.
  7. to SSA. The Dcon S4 specs are quite close to the D4 specs. The Dcon is surprising in the suggested ported box design, they are right at home in smaller ported boxes. I saw you said 1.8 is too big, well see if 1.0 - 1.25 is going to fit. Heck, in 1.8 cubes, you could fit a 12" Dcon.
  8. 2' deep and rising fast.
  9. Some of those noises being made were ummmm....
  10. It is not going to piss people off, we here at SSA strive to make topics actually beneficial and productive, not a bunch of goobers throwing out useless opinions on products they know nothing about and have no idea what is the best direction for the person asking the question. The idea is to provide as much info about what you are going for to help the people who are experienced enough to guide you in the right direction with correct information that is based on facts and experience, not hype or BS (there are plenty of sub-par forums out there for sub-par topics).
  11. Thank you, it annoys the crap out of me. Sad thing is that there are a few brands essentially doing the same thing, just slapping parts together that fit and claiming years of development went into the driver. Not to mention the far east build houses copying the designs and selling cheaper part versions to any goober for a few bucks to order a driver line. In addition, I am getting really tired of people thinking about recones even before they have bought the driver, for daily installs. In a quality install that the driver is matched up well with, and the gain set properly, a recone is something that should not be an issue for a very long time, especially with the improving suspensions of modern drivers compared to some of the older single spider drivers who's spiders will fatigue faster. Sir Nick Morgan said it best a while ago, that recones were never an issue or something people outside the competition arena cared about, until these cheap big power amplifiers became common place. Meaning way too many people are buying amplifiers too big for their own good and cooking their sub woofers because they thought they were hot stuff because they could brag to their friends that their amp had 30gazillion watts. /rant.
  12. The great thing about this is that these will be perfect designs for our drivers, but plenty of other drivers will be right at home in them too. So this is expanding our ever growing resources.
  13. Just another awesome addition putting the SSA site even farther in front.
  14. Not me, just updated to what Nathan sent us.
  15. Very well said. The idea is never to push anyone away, it is trying to get through the ideas and tried and true processes that have worked, especially for newer to the hobby people.
  16. haha thanks. but yea one thing i hate is when people think they're better than others. oh, and #999 Yeah it's definitely annoying. And this is one of my favorite vids, kinda old but funny none the less. Fixed
