  1. Yep, Aaron is quite enamored with his sled, though, so no drool or cum stains please 177k on it. Only 93' Brabus 300ce I have seen on the east coast.
  2. I exagerate, it's not the worste interior on the face of the earth. As for the outside... I'm not loving it, but it's not as ugly as some. I think it's a cool car, I would take a benz over it though. Even though the M is reported to be faster. I want that SLS something serious. If you're open to that kind of budget talks... Welllllll In truth, if I could have any car based on style I would want an E55amg and then give it to brabuss or someone else of the same nature. I would also take a 997 and hand that over to Ruff or one of their partners And maybe an ariel atom. Sweet, we need another Brabus person on here. I am the only one I think.
  3. The one with the extra HP button?? I really dislike BMW interior, but it's a fast fast car aparently. Consistantly rated as a faster and better handling, but less "fun" to drive car than the E55(supercharged). It depends. The one with the aluminum crap all over isn't so nice, but some packages look real nice. It is the exterior that gets me. I like the interiors on the newer BMWs. Haven't sat in any Mercedes Lately however. Nice car, but if you want to do any aftermarket stereo, have fun. A lot of the audio systems in BMW, Mercedes, and Audi now are all done by fiber optic. :(
  4. Thanks for the review. I have a few times explained to a few inquiring emails about the Xcon, as the Icon on 'roids. Essentially more of everything with out losings accuracy.

  6. I've thought about getting a General Lee horn on mine a time or two But don't follow that up with air time in the E.
  7. I have done a few CAD positions with very similar work over the recent years. It's got its ups and downs. Strikes and gutters, as the dude would say. The software is a nightmare, pro/engineer. I call it pro/p-o-s. OEM projects are the best. Logging and verifying hours. The paper work. Oh, and don't get me started on revisions, I love revisions. I am now in 3DS Max for this job, but will be using an array of different programs. That's cool. Is that software more like a free form modeling/surfacing. Pro/E is very difficult. Everything has to be dimensioned and constrained. It's difficult to get organic shapes without the surfacing module, which they refuse to buy here. Modeling duct work for under the dash is a nightmare. I must have aged like 30 years just working here. What can I say it pays the bills. Any work to show off? Yes, mostly free form. I never like Pro-E, but then again I did not have all that much time on it. I preferred BRL-CAD. As with all of the other work that I have been doing that requires a clearance, I cannot show anyone what I am working on.
  8. There is a chance for that on the next version of the Icon, but it is not finalized yet.
  9. For sealed applications, the Icon's tend to prefer larger then average enclosures. A few high end home audio guys are using them in monster sealed boxes in their home theater. Depends on your goals for the install. Chances are the ported 12's would be the better option, but the pair of 15's sealed will still have brutal output too.
  10. Even with out hearing them yet, I have no doubt the Ascendant drivers are outstanding.

  18. Rep System Explanation and Guidelines. This is a newer feature to this site. It became active when we did the big software upgrade mid-2009. I did not lay out some rules as I felt this site's member base was capable of handling it like adults. The purpose is to either reward people who are taking the time out to really help the forum, in terms of topics or posts that are beneficial in information, or to give a warning to those posting negative or vastly incorrect information. It is a nice little feature that can be a positive addition to new members, especially when they are looking for something they need, and they find it right here by one of our members, so +1. It is not a popularity contest, it is not a bashing contest, and it is not there to be used as an anonymous attack against someone you don't like or someone that had to correct your incorrect statement. I have stated a couple of times in passing that if it was abused, I will need to turn it off. A few of the moderators have voiced their opinion about turning it off, even the ones who are in the top 15 list on the front page of the forum, as they feel it would be abused. Now this topic is being posted due to two members who will go unnamed at the moment, as I hope they see this as a polite heads up so I don't need to give them a warning on their account, approach them about the problem, or even be forced to go as far as having to remove their account privilege. This is a very respectful site with some of the best and most knowledgeable members in terms of car audio on the net, so please let's keep it that way and not be childish. Guidelines: Don't abuse it Don't use it to attack someone though anonymity Use it when you feel someone has really contributed to the forum in terms of a great topic or post or idea. Use it when you feel someone has grossly mislead the topic or OP in terms of the discussion. Keep it civil Use it in moderation Please abide by those guidelines or we will be forced to give temporary time-outs to those that do, or even go so far as turning off the system. It is quite simple.
