If the driver is not abused, and the box has no leaks, I say go for it. W7's are very expensive on their own. Check the suspension, make sure it is not too soft. Don't worry about the ohm load so much. You can use an amplifier that does power at 2ohms mono.

Did you look at any used BTL's?

Learn some of the basics, and build a few test boxes. Maybe check out a free CAD program to get your mind wrapped around the design better if it will help, lots of people use Google SketchUp. If you want to get fancy, look at Alibre, but they hound you constantly asking if you will buy.

I think I just saw this topic on the12volt. Anyway, as said above, go with what Fi suggests. Few companies come close in testing and design to Fi. 70 sq" of port sounds like a good start. I think you will be fine with a 5 cube box (after displacement) with a single chamber. Just build it strong.

Might need to make another user group for high posting members. We have the 1000+ group that are denoted in orange. Maybe we need a purple with 5k or something.
