  1. Congrats dre! Glad to hear things are going well. And it is good to see you pop in.
  2. We are going to lower the rms a tiny bit, just to be on the safe side to dial in a little more DAF. As these are not pure SPL burp competition drivers. Yes they do have a very strong motor and hefty suspension with stout leads, but we did not have pure SPL competition at the top of the priority list when we decided on this version to move to production. Yes, they can get brutally loud, but clarity and decent controlled excursion for clean higher output daily drivers was the goal. That is mirrored by the Dcon and the Icon in different segments of the market. Sure, people are going to try them in SPL competition vehicles, but some are going to try them in SQ competition vehicles too. For example, Mark's monster box is tuned to 31hz, Trevor is going to probably tune lower, and the majority of my testing was done between 33hz and 27hz box tuning, so the people that know the driver the best are tuning their ported enclosures the same way they would an Icon. Only reason I am saying this is I have seen a few posts and topics with people wanting to put 3500+ watts on this driver in a high tuned box. We do have aspirations to do a competition SPL driver down the road if the market calls for it, but we have plenty on our plate at the moment with three very strong drivers in their respective segments.
  3. Sure, when the new ones are on it.
  4. 7 - 3/8" We are starting a new segment in sub woofers called "Deep Mount Drivers".
  5. Just want to add that Metacrawler and Webcrawler (two old school search engines) have been doing the combined search engine method for a while.
  6. Looks good. Here in the communist wealth of MD, they would never let tinted windshields fly.
  7. God I miss Az. You guys wanna hire me so I can go back? We would love to hire people, soon as we are cranking out drivers like Scott or Rusty.
  8. Now the question is, will the people that ran over here, to ask about that site being down stay? Actually if people take a moment and look, we installed a real feedback system on here. Much more orgainized then "refs" in someone signature. There is always quality items in the classified section and there is no history of scammers.
  9. Also some skilled welders, coffee nuts, gun collectors, and photography people.
  10. no flood control is because you dont have a chump for an admin Speaking of said chump... CA.com is down 4 year old bump?
  11. You don't have to do two amplifiers, just saying that some have. If you get these RF's, be easy on the gains and how hard you play the drivers, as I have seen plenty birthing in the 1400watts range. And that is well above the comfort level for thermal limits of the Icon.
  12. The Q and Icon are more so in the same general area. yeah i knew that but i asked how the Q comparers to it because i heard it is basically like a Icon on steroids which would be like a Q on steroids... right? im looking to upgrading in the future and instead of going to a 18 Q" i might just go to a 18" Xcon if its like a Q, but better... I mean it handles 1750 watts... hits lows like the Icon (which should be like the Q) and is a SQ oriented sub... sounds almost like my dream sub. I think you mean the ICON is a Q on steroids, and the XCON is like the ICON on steroids. If so then yes it is. Corrected the above statement. The Icon and Q are in the approx market segment with each other. The Xcon shares the same goal of clean response as the Icon, but design (coil / suspension / motor) are much different.
  13. If this goes on too much longer, we will have to call them and push some buttons.
  14. I have not used them, but they have a reputation of entry level/cheap I guess.
  15. Never heard of them, and none of the amplifier images seem to be loading for me. There are a number of companies like this across the country that are mostly regional.
  16. We were going to team up with them, but choose not to.
  17. haha, I like your train of thought With out the SSA shop this forum might not exist right? The forum would still exist, and has existed long before the shop. The shop supports the growing cost of running a larger and larger site.
  18. thanks... very rare to see admins welcome a noob.. thats nice. I make a point of it.
  19. No paint. Same material as the Dcon and Icon backplates.
  20. A quality amplifier that is between 750 and 2200 watts will be plenty to power both. Or what some have done, individual 700-1000 watt amps.
