SSA DCON GIVEAWAY! 2 SUBS!
Okay, closing the drawing now. The 1st and 2nd number drawn three times randomly are the winners. Once the winner's are picked, they have 3 days to PM me with their address so we can figure shipping. Because there are so many people involved we need to keep the time line short for the winners. If a winner does not contact me with shipping info an alternate will be drawn. So if you don't win initially, there is still a chance. Good luck! Looking good.

The "X"con 12" prototype has arrived
This is exactly why we are usually very hesitant to give any dates because there always seems to be a delay that is caused from something out of our control.

Need advice for setup of Sub and Comps
If I am understanding the question right, the idea of a 5-channel over two separate amplifiers is great if it serves your needs. Many people prefer a 5-channel when space, price, and current draw might be an issue. Others opt for separate amplifiers when they want more power on average and flexibility down the road. As for your set up, you could run the components active off the amplifier if you want, but that is up to you. Or you could bridge the channels and get more power to the components and keep the crossovers on them.

question about mj18
I think it would be great. Top notch price to performance ratio.

If we have no more entries between now and later today. I will close the contest and assign the numbers to the qualified entrants, then do the drawing and list the order as to which numbers were picked.

No need to get the 3000D for a pair of SSD's, the 1500D is more then enough.

SSA HOODIES, HATS & DICKIES BUTTON DOWNS (updated, pics p.2)
This run of hooded sweatshirts, hats and button down shirts will be a small one. We want to see which items, colors, and sizes are most popular before we do a massive inventory order.

These are all embroidered, so it will be very nice one complete. We will have prices up as soon as they are done and ready to ship.- which component set is better?
Why are you worried about the co-ax in the rear? I would save the money and ditch the rears and put the money into a superior front set of components, or go with a very nice DIY set of tweets and mids along with a quality 4 channel that you can run active. That would be a real step in the right direction for great sound quality in your install.- Quad Stacked Magnet
The number of magnet slugs in many cases don't mean much. I have read about some drivers that have a dummy extra slug because it is cheaper then doing a taller back plate in some cases. Other drivers have a taller, or in other words more slugs, motor stack because most of the time smaller OD slugs in multiples are cheaper then less much larger OD slugs. The upcoming Xcon has a single massive slug, the old Avalanches I believe had a single slug along with the Atlas, and most notably is the monster slug on the new BTL. There is a write up on here, have to search for it, about the magnet flux of a speaker motor.- US amps
Very capable amplifier, but a bit out of the budget for this install. Maybe consider the Cadence iA7.- ed nine.1
It is not so much the amp it self, but the people who you are giving your money to and the company behind it. I would suggest, if on a very tight budget, check into Cadence from JasonPaul, or a refurb from db-r.- My Fi comparison thread??
Edited the thread title a little.- Welcome to the IHoP
