  1. I hope everyone understands, the Evil6.5 is not a rebadge/copy or a basic car audio or PA style driver. They are MY approach to a sound quality mid that is flexible for both home and car, that can hang with drivers double the price.
  2. Ok, I am not sure where this topic got so far off track or why. But please keep in mind that I was roughly explaining on the very basics of general design methodology of most amplifiers from those respective countries as that is what I was figuring was the over riding question. There is no one best type of country of origin for a specific need. As the market has really shifted away from just pure SPL burps to more sustained high output on music (read: I only demo bro). I have seen a number of competitors or demo trucks stick with or move back to Korean style amplifiers due to the voltage drops from these long demos, and due to the extreme heat levels with cooling aided by the much larger heat sinks. More research and info is needed past my post, before making an amplifier selection for a certain install need. Two little side notes: 1. My name has two A's 2. Don't ever take anything Meade says seriously, I'll leave it at that. Sean, though he may come across a little harsh to some, is an engineer with a physics background and is always dealing with highly advanced testing equipment. So even if you don't like how he answers your question, he is a valuable resource when it comes to the knowledge base here. Which is saying a lot as SSA and DIYma are the two remaining active forums that are really worth it when it comes to correct and well backed up information in terms of high end audio.
  3. There's some down there, look, I can see it.
  4. That plug wouldn't be the same size plug for the back of an old SoundStream amp?
  5. The Brazilian amps use a different tech where the voltage is jumped way up, meaning the current goes down. Brazilian amps (on average) are more efficient this way and they need much less heat sink and internal parts (capacitance) making them much cheaper to build and smaller in size. On the other side of things, they are very sensitive to voltage fluctuation, tend to be noisy, usually run fans, and seem to have a little lower reliability record as they are usually not at all abuse tolerant. Korean/Chinese amps tend to be over built, very durable, usually don't need to run fans, more abuse tolerant, and are not very voltage sensitive. As on the other side of things, they are less efficient by the design, much more expensive due to far more heat sink and caps needed, and much larger in foot print. In the mass market here in the USA, customers are getting younger on average as the watts per dollar gets less. So that means there are more people who are much less experiences who are now able to buy larger/more powerful amplifiers. That lack of experience (and probably electrical system back bone to support said big power amps), leads to much more abuse on the amplifiers and voltage fluctuation. Adding up to a market that is best served by Korean/Chinese style amplifiers, which kind of points the Brazilian style amplifiers to the more experienced people who have stronger electrical systems. Shout out to Mike Dioguardo for the refresher on Brazilian amps.
  6. There is no price tweaking or raising. The unopened new in box unit has always been $500, as it is listed on the SSA store. We are offering $100 off these few that are "open box" units never powered up. So that means they are $400. I guess I am not sure where the disconnect or confusion is.
  7. To make room for new shipments, we need to move out some open box items that were used for pictures or display. I am going to let them go heavily discounted as they are not listed as new items on the SSA Store. They will be listed as we get to them and it is a first come first serve basis. Just use the provided coupon code for the discount. First up, a trio (3) of DC Sounds 90.4 amplifiers that are TOTALLY new, only opened for product photos or display at the SSA Store in NY. Doing $100 off standard MAP. http://store.soundsolutionsaudio.com/products/dc-audio-90-4-a3-4-channel-amplifier.html Coupon code to enter: DC90.4OB
  8. I need a sleep day.
  9. It has been raining everywhere like crazy. Up here, we had plenty, Drew and Matt in LA got flooded badly, pouring at the Olympics etc.
  10. Yes of course.
  11. The "R" months. Where is La Arrr when you need him?
  12. Could you post a mini review on the mini amp when you have time?
  13. We don't have a back in stock date yet. Working on getting new coils to do another build run in the near future.
  14. Looks really solid. Is this from my suggested specs on the site or the 3D model?
  15. Looking solid so far sir! Way to break in the new workshop.
  16. Thank you for using the SSA Store.
  17. Don't have one at this time, will need to send out a few to get that info.
  18. Great sub, good luck with the sale.
  19. New IA amps up on the SSA Store: http://store.soundsolutionsaudio.com/categories/amplifiers/incriminator-audio.html
  20. Oh I want to come over for sure.
  21. They can vary a bit on the install, tweeter choice, subwoofer and overall goals. Meaning you could high pass them as low as 55hz if you like if your doors (pods/kicks etc.) are well dampened. You can run them up to 3000hz if you want if your tweets are good to go there.
  22. *cough* IS300.
