  1. That is incorrect. Teamssaudio consists of more then 3 people. who are the other people? never seen or heard of them. just looked at the team section on ssa, and it states "coming sooon" Team SSA (Dave,Ramos and I) made people at the shows recognize ssa as a true force to be reckoned with in sound quality. don't believe me, ask tom shaw(former world champ),randy eddy(won elite top 30, but lost to dave in meca) if they know who team ssa is and i guarantee you that dave, ramos and i will be mentioned and the list goes on of competitors that are impressed with our cars and sportsmanship. Dave, ramos and I will be at Meca World finals. Any of you guys from ssa or "team ssa" are welcome to come by and get a demo. Webster, that is awesome that you guys have done well in MECA SQ. The thing is that we had not heard one single person come to the website, shop, or Icon support page and say they saw the Icon at a MECA SQ show. And in reality, very few people have heard of Tom Shaw or Randy Eddy, even though they are very good at what they do and have accomplished a great deal. So when mentioned in small world of MECA SQ, yeah you guys are going to come up and people will know those guys, but in the big picture, it is quite the opposite. I know that you guys gave out a ton of stickers and brochures to people that came and heard the cars, and that is very cool. But the effects of that were not seen on our end. So the relative perspective has to be considered, especially when we are solely internet based and run. Next, there are other associations and competitions outside of MECA SQ. We had a number of people compete early on in the season(s), (a few blazers one of whom is still active today, Aerostar van who is also still active, 2 door Tahoe, and a few others in the area of Phoenix some doing car shows too, but most important and notable of all, is the other owner of SSA, Mark did a number of shows and competitions. Mark had to stop doing competitions because we could not afford the constant expense of them. People have no idea how many hours he and I put in every week, and still make $0 from our efforts. So once again, we are grateful for the exposure and time you guys put in, but we are such a small company and in no way can we keep up with larger more established companies when it comes to funding/sponsoring, and we went above what most companies do anyway, that is a cold hard fact. But I am done talking about this since the "team" was "disbanded" anyway. We have to focus our money and energy on things that will keep the line going and at some point put money in our pockets. End of story.
  2. On this day in 1986, TASCC--a superconducting cyclotron at the Chalk River Laboratories--officially opened. In 1985, Space Shuttle Atlantis flew its maiden voyage. In 1964, the first Buffalo Wings were made at the Anchor Bar in Buffalo, New York. In 1955, Captain Kangaroo debuted on the CBS television network and The Mickey Mouse Club debuted on ABC. In 1942, a V-2 /A4-rocket launched from Test Stand VII at Peenem
  3. Glad it got there safe!
  4. We are somewhat limited by what is available to our build house, and in reality not many companies are actually using carbon fiber. But everyone is entitled to their opinion. Did you finally decided to keep the cf dustcap? We want to use it, but need to hear back for certain that the logo will be able to be applied well.
  5. The 3.2 should be fine. But installs vary from car to car. So the best thing would be to try it out and if you feel it is too big you can add wood slugs to the inside of the box to reduce air space.
  6. Actually the Xenon's were very good amplifiers, especially the 200.4, despite the rubber ends. They are very high quality amps that had some nice features. The RSD amps were not on the same level as the Xenon's, but still plenty of power and good performance per dollar for sure.
  7. As soon as I saw Maxxsonics in the link I did not click.
  8. I love the fist one.
  9. I actually like it. I know it is not what the purists like or want, much in the same vein when Porsche released the Cayenne. But Lamborghini needs to find another way to stay profitable. And yes, people are going to react with the notion that they already ask insane rates for their current cars, but when not many are sold.... In the end I am surprised they did not want to release a more main stream car priced well below 100k. Something to go after the Cayman/Boxster segment that would make them a number of sales in a hurry. I know Ferrari is too arrogant and pompous to ever release anything smaller or slower then the F4xx model that the masses could possibly afford. So this could be a thing of Lamborghini following suit. Ferrari did have a 4 door years back, but it did not last long.
  10. 100k, humm > 40k into SSA to start small amplifier line > 10k to wipe out minor debt > 20k into house (mortgage and repairs) > 10k into 323i wagon for daily driving and SSA test mule > 10k into Arthur's college fund > 9.5k into savings or investments (wait until it turns into 15k and burn 5k on rare or special amplifiers) > $500 buy Amanda something nice

  12. I would not suggest running multiple amps to a single driver for daily usage like this. As for the amp itself, we cannot help much with out knowing the model number.
  13. Two different approaches, two different markets really. Both are very good choices, but the current ZED models are pretty much all gone so you would probably have to buy used, there might be a few Deuces left new.
  14. Like mentioned before, can you tell us more? Meaning goals, space, amplifier etc.
  15. Thank you denim for the welcome! I'm lucky enough to collect Zed's great amps.Btw., How do you like the Deuce? What sub are you running it with? I'm wondering how good and how hard does the Deuce's hit? can it be comparable to the opti 1000's or usx 1000f's. I'm just learning about installations of a car stero sound system, I would apreciate all the inputs from very knowledgeable members here! I'm using my US ACOUSTICS 1000 and 4065 in my fullsize blazer powering my polk audio components, 6x9 kenwood excelons',4x6 excelons and 2 12s solo L7s' Through In-dash Jvc tv /monitors,My optis 1000.1d(soon to be replaced by the Deuce!) and 100.4 are hooked up in My lexus lx450 feeding to (2) solo L5's and (4) 6 1/2 Hertz Space components through In-dash Eclipse avn 5435 navi/monitor.Now, I will be starting a new project/set-up in my Land Rover this weekend, I will be using pioneer premier dex p9 using harness that would enable me to use Land Rovers 11 speakers Harmon Kardon system, I ordered 06 Kickers mono amp ( I know! ) and (2) 12s Mb quartz rwe 302 subs, hopefully I'll have it by friday so I will be busy this week end. That's all for now. Thanks again! At the moment my DeuceBB and GladiusBB are still in their plastic and still in the box with Mr. Mantz's signature on the back. As for comparability, I would feel safe saying that I would expect the ZED branded amplifiers are going to be a nice step above ZED built other company branded amplifiers. I try to collect older ZED stuff too. Wanting to build back up my little stash of grey heat sink USA series US Acoustics, and I have a Planet Audio model too. Had thought about grabbing a few old Boss badged ZED built 5 channels from way back, but just have not had the money to feed my addiction.
  16. Wow, major improvement in size. I dig it, and I know people are going to be excited for this thing.
  17. only because you think S-Q-L is a real term. What is it supposed to stand for? Sound Quality Loud? That doesn't make much sense. maybe Loud Sound Quality is better. They've put a filter on here to change it to LSQ when you post so as to stop the spread of the term. I was thinking of expanding the filters more to help some spelling and other bad or misleading terms. Might need to start a topic to help collect them all.
  18. An untouched Supra is like the white unicorn.
  19. 6 channel, Planet Audio badged, ZED amp. I believe the US Acoustics 6300 was the same thing, different heat sink. I found a 6300 a few weeks after I bought the p706, but out well. Going to have to find some play money asap.
