Rl-p 12 box config
I am not very clear on what you are asking out side of suggested box sizing. Many people are very happy with 1.75 @ 33hz, others who have a little extra space move up to 2.0 cubes.

Rl-p 12" Dilemma: To keep or not to keep?
The kicker is good, I have not played with the belle but Kent would not steer you wrong. Check ebay for JBL 755.6II, not a ton of power, but a good 6 channel that will do a very good job.

- Icon 15 possable problem
Yes, but if the amp is clipping, there is a point where it is no longer excess glue, it is the thermal limits of the sub being passed.- Noob to SSA from WV...
Welcome to SSA. Any questions you have on the Icon, make a topic in the SSA section.- Frankenwoofer - TCON style
That's awesome!- Icon 15 possable problem
This is correct on all accounts. The Icon can take some serious abuse (I believe in testing a 15" saw 4000 watts for a few moments), but regardless of the sub woofer, if it is powered by an amp that is clipping, they will heat up and could suffer some damage. Get the amp set up right and you should be in better shape without the glue smell.- Anatomy of a mach 5 spl 15
'Tis a hoss of a driver, I like the SPL-12 a great deal.- Double front necessary?
Post up some pictures when you get it built. Also for the baffle, you can always build without, then add it later if you want.- Help Again!
To me, it is always worth it. Heck, even if you get just a small 40x2 amplifier, and some passive components from a major name (Cadence or Kicker for example) and do just a little sound deadening on the door while you have the door panel off to install the new speakers, the difference would be pretty solid.- Infinite Baffle home system

You might want to call US Amps directly on this one. As our US Amps rep has come to SSA less and less, we might be dropping US Amps from our line up.- Lining trunk of SUV
