So I just spent $700...
This should be outstanding. Nice work on the sound deadening. In my daily driver, the value of the Second Skin is greater then the amplifiers and speakers.

:)- IXL 10.2.2
Based off the IXL 18, if I wanted a 10" higher power driver (other then ours) that was first and foremost built for clarity (much of the idea behind the Icon ), the IXL 10 would be one of the top selections.- I need an expert's help with enclosures for 18" AA mayhem bui
Why does the port have to fire upward?- I need an expert's help with enclosures for 18" AA mayhem bui
Ok so what exactly are you asking? Looking for an all out SPL box? Daily driving to attempt to listen to music? Or a peaky box to show off?- Recones
You will have to ask a few companies because most don't recone, and if the company that made the sub does not do it, it could be a little bit of a challenge.- Fi Q or Fi SSD
Both have the ability to sound great and have strong output. But the results depend more so on the install and the power you plan to run. I am guessing you are probably leaning towards a ported enclosure. I would suggest, dropping the capacitor and upgrading to 1/0 power and ground wire. As for the two different Fi drivers, the SSD is a great all around driver, and many people run them sealed and have very clean sound out of them, and many people who own the Q, run them ported and send a ton of power to them and have good numbers on the mic. Now, those are on the opposite ends of the design and intentions of the sub woofers, but I am trying to make a point about it being all in the install. I would either run the SSD w/copper coil option, in a larger low tuned ported box, or the Q (stock) in a well built sealed box.- in search of a groundpounder
I think you are missing the point, it is not the subs or the amp, it is his install and how well he did it.- in search of a groundpounder
Then those fools need to listen to the 8" in my car.- SPL 12's in 4th order. Review
I agree, for an SPL comp. type subwoofer, it does a good job on music.- Welcome to the IHoP

For the trunk, I would focus on getting one layer down on the lid and floor. Then start working on the walls and wheel wells. - Working on improving SAX-100.4
