The PG RSD's have a good following for passive components. We have a number of people here (me included) that have done active DIY front stage for less money then passive components are getting excellent performance per dollar.

That is all in the install. But I am biased towards the BTL due to what I have seen in person that they are capable of.

If you have to be below $200, Mach5 IXL Dayton HF or HO FI SSD all very good drivers for the money, and would suit your needs great.

Can you give us a little more detail? Forget the box design or style for the moment. What is your end goal? Is it all about output? Do you want output with a non-peaky response? Do you just want a ton of drivers for the fun of it? Also, amplifier plans, space available, vehicle this is going in would help.

x2 glad to hear RF still puts out great stuff. I was looking to grab a T4004 as a temporary glorified 3 channel, but decided to go back to ZED and get the 6 channel and go active from the get go. But yes, the "T" line seems to have countless happy owners.

Did you try hooking the speaker up to one of the other channels to make sure it is not the speaker?

Got your PM. Could be a little excess glue burning off, or you are clipping the amp to the point the sub is starting to absorb that clipped signal. Either way, back off the gain and see if the smell continues.

Jacob has plans to upgrade the 100.2, but I am not sure where it is on his list of priorities. I will let Jacob say because I don't know all the details. Either way, the current 100.2 is a heck of an amplifier.
