  1. They will be built to order in 12s, 15s, and 18s when available. I was wondering if 12's are the way to go seeing how the numbers of really high power handling subs in the 10/12 sizes have dropped off in recent years.
  2. Yes, the dark grey heat sink models with the black and red logo in the middle. i have a usa4050 right now bridged on my alumapro components, still passive. have a usa4080 on the way, going to bridge the 4050 to a pair of creative sdx7 8 ohm mids and use the 4080 for dayton reference mids/tweets in the a-pillars. that 4050 gets pretty damned hot to the touch bridged on my components, is this normal? thinking about picking up a second 4080 so it will maybe run more efficient and cooler. i LOVE the sound of it. with my crossfire vr602 i always had a little bit of feedback, really low hissing i could hear with the deck turned all the way down. its dead silent now, no ground change or anything, just swapped amps. Some have been known to get a little hot, so no big deal. Mine did get hot after long drives and hard use. I keep my eyes out for them from time to time on ebay. Seem to always get out bid at the last minute. Was able to snatch up a 6 channel cousin in the mean time. IMHO the zed US Acoustics are pretty damn good. Nice and clean and do rated power if not a little more. I run a 4050 and 2 2150s. The only reason Im changing is power and space. So what is the fate of your amplifiers? Side note: someone buy this before I do>> 6300
  3. I think a nice silk dome 1" tweet with a decent crossover teamed up with the MLI-65, that could come in under $125 MSRP would sell really well.
  4. I would also check with Jason Paul and see if there are any A7HC's left, or check the Sundown Audio b-stock list. Great choice on sub.
  5. Great response, just a shame more people don't know.
  6. I need to post up pictures at some point of what customs did to a large number of Mach5 drivers that were shipped to my house.
  7. From many recent reviews, a good number of people have reported back that that series of amplifiers do not do ratted power. Plus just because they are ratted at 170 rms, does not mean you need to send that much power to them. A quality 50x4 or 100x4 amp with a half decent crossover would be plenty.
  8. It is actually finished, just needed to post interior shots for a few doubters. Thanks for the postive words, means more coming from a professional builder. I have been telling everyone it is a .5 @ 33hz because it is nice round numbers, but it is really .55 -.57 @ 32hz. It has been a while that I have sanded this much and used zero screws. The sad thing is I have to do a ton of sanding because at our current house, in the above pictures you are looking at the entire extent of my work shop. When I have some extra time I will go back and pour in the resin corner curves.
  9. As I am a little unclear with what you are asking. I can tell you this based off of the topic, you don't need to run speakers near or at or even over their rms wattage ratting to get good performance. As they are a good price, their quality has seemed to be in question, the Hi Fonics amps that is. One member here, ///M5, is a proponent of using the same budget and looking for high quality/featured amplifiers used.
  10. Wow that was obscure.
  11. Because I did not see a mention of going after tenths on a db mic, do you really need to run all that power if you are just looking for a pair of subs that can "hit the lows" well?
  12. Was just going to mention those.
  13. I tend to steer away from XBL2. Details ? Personal preference and I guess some what comes with it. SSA will not have an XBL2 driver.
  14. I think they have a high Qts.
  15. There was plans to, but the way the specs mapped out, the enclosure size would have been approaching RL-s territory. But we do have 18's in the pipe line (other then the ones posted earlier).
  16. I vote Q as I tend to steer away from XBL2.
  17. Why not send out a few samples to a couple of the athletes here and see how they feel?
  18. I still suggest you take a peak at them.

Nothing crazy like some of the guys over at the PG forum but I just have a few Titanium amps laying around. Just sold a ZX475ti. A 12in Xmax, Old EQ215X, A brand new still in box TBBKF4 fused distribution block, some RCA's, 1/0 gauge wire, terminal, etc... Selling most of it. My 600.2 and 500.4 are a perfect matching set so I don't want to part with them. The amps are under each seat in this ride so I don't mind running something that doesen't match. I still was unable to find a spec on the Sundown 1000D on what the efficiency is @ 1 ohm? I know my ti600.2 is less that 50% efficient. I am glad you made it over to SSA.
  20. That place is horrible, look at their domain name and number of posts, then notice how we have 3x that. Shame because what could be done with that domain.....
  21. I drink nearly 72oz. of water a day, just the filtered out of the fridge door free kind.
  22. 500 is plenty.
  23. Side note, if you are considering 10's, I would highly suggest you jump on the killer deal Sundown is running on the SD-1 v2's. $460 = 4 very good American made drivers. Heck, I found out that even the coils were wound here in the USA.
  24. There is a shop vac in the corner.
