  1. Happy birthday !!!!!! Hope you have a happy and healthy one!!!
  2. No pix right now, but was able to finish both doors and wow serious difference. Yes the reduction in noise levels in the civic are going to be much higher then most, but one layer of overkill did really well. I don't want to take the doors back off, but I would love to add Overkill pro on the outer door skin since I have the depth there to work with.
  3. I was told about the incredible mark up by them by an insider.
  4. Toyota and Nissan seem to pretend they never have any recalls. I think it is partially a shame thing, but both companies have been pulling this shady under the radar recalls. Not very cool.
  5. Good luck. I think I missed it if you said, but what is the tuning? How many layers are on the walls?
  6. I don't remember how you're using yours... but 1.0cf. a MAW specs in at under 0.6 Qtc, which is a bit lower than I'm aiming for. Mine gets poped in my daily driver from time to time. My 12" ported box is a bit on the large side for the MAW. But it plays right at home in the 1.1, I am sure it would be fine in a .85.
  7. Steve I am really sad to hear about how you lost your job. And I agree with you on your feelings about USA jobs and workers. I agree with your feelings. But due to the high costs to build things these days very little is actually built here. There are a few amps that say they are American made, but what is really happening is the boards are punched and filled overseas and then they are shipped here and assembled here. Heck, most of US Amps are not even made here. But if you want to look at it this way, for Americans, Jacob and his US dealers are helped when Sundown sells an amplifier.
  8. I am confused by the phrasing of the topic title.
  9. Find out of there are any APX600.5's left, they are direct copies of the Arc's that I saw on DIYma.
  10. Damn, I wish I had that deal.
  11. If all stands as is, the basket will be the same one we use for the Icon. There is plenty of clearance for our needs. The motor will be a large 2 slug motor, unless things change. dang....crushed my dream..... :puzzled:

  13. These drivers in particular will probably only be a ported box design.
  14. For a mild daily install it should be plenty.
  15. There are three rod lockers, one for rods, then one each for L/R bib. SEAS 7" ? Peerless 6.5"?
  16. BIBOW? Bigger is Better on Water? :0
  17. Congrats on the boat!!
  18. It was recently found that many of the APX model amps shared a great deal of internals with some recent Arc's/Zapco's/Cerwin Vega amps.
  19. Goals, power, budget, sound preference etc?
  20. If you are looking for a dual 4 10" under $200 and don't get this, you need to be slapped!!
  21. Well all things considered the older US Amps were much smaller in production levels then today it seems. In addition, there was not an entry level line like the XT's are now. I would not consider the older Xterminator's entry level at all. The company has shifted its goals and direct some, much of it was a forced change to stay active and competitive. The new Merlins are very good amplifiers and rank up there with some of the other solid amps of today. The new AX, I have not yet had a chance to use, but they are spec'd out to be top notch. Not counting the tube model that got mixed reviews. I hope that was unbiased since I could have bought US amps, but grabbed ZED.
  22. That is the correct terminology.
  23. If you can make 2 runs, it wouldn't hurt.
  24. Just thought it was worth posting them up here from npdang's review recently. Very few companies are lucky enough to have Kippel results, especially one our size. Great quote from said review: Looks like 1-way xmag of ~19mm, close enough to rated specs. Very nicely centered curve, with good symmetry. Not as extended of a plateau as you might see with the best designs, but a terrific example of a textbook overhung motor. Typical Le curve for a motor without a faraday ring/sleeve, with inductance increasing in the rearward stroke. Appears as if suspension was perfectly mated to the capabilities of the motor. All in all, good results. I didn't observe any excess mechanical noise either during the test, which is a good sign.
