I was looking for a snailshell design for a while ago but gave up. So was I. I think about 18 months ago I was on the search to learn how to properly design a SN or TL. Just did not get far enough into it.

I had the SPL12 in a large low tuned box. Did well for daily, will it win world SQ finals? No, but did much better then expected and better then other SPL drivers. But as said above, and with your power, I think an IXL might be the better choice for you. Great driver, can get down real low no sweat and will be more suited for daily needs.

As mentioned before, Sundown is one that is now proven. New RF's and Alpines are going full range class D in a small package.

I think the SAE-800D is going to a freaking steal. Not sure if people will notice, but the ends of the amp in the rendering are different then the current SAE amps.
