  1. Ok, wow. Hot topics on SSA this week. I don't want to lock this topic, so lets find a common ground. Let me put it this way, if Zane comes out of hibernation to post, then something is going on. To LB, try not to be so defensive or lash out. All people are trying to say is just be respectful of others around you, regardless of the authority of police giving a ticket or not. Trust me, I am guilty of blaring my system and getting in trouble. I was 19 and 4 Vega 12's on an old ZED built US Acoustics got RFL in the ole' mocha monster. And in Ocean City MD right after a large car show, police where out and I got a ticket because they could hear my system 50 feet away. I had to go to court and pay a fine. That was enough for me not to do it again. In addition I feel bad that I was not respectful of the people there on vacation. Just because I lived there did not mean I could abuse my freedoms of upgrading my stereo. To get to the point, these laws would not be in place with out people abusing the privilege (to use Tom's word). So if everyone would just enjoy their music at levels that is not infringing on others then all will be well. But yes, this is a great sales tool for Anthony to move some more Damplifer and Overkill.
  2. Sir Nick, we are going to have to demand some pictures of said turbo's. Anyway, as for the recone, Fi has done a good bunch of them. There is a guy who reconed a TC-9 with Icon softparts. Aptly dubbed it the Tcon. Loves it so much, I think it will go 6' under with him. But not sure who would be able to do a similar aluminum cone and surround like the uber. I think the captain might be the only other SSA member with one left, unless X-over has one or maybe Ryan.
  3. This was my first thought. Their dual CMP8 design looked interesting.
  4. Ohio's are $$$, as of late Excessive Amperage and PowerMaster seem to be great choices.
  5. Hey Nick!! Glad to see you are still alive!! hope you don't go *poof* for too long.
  6. Welcome to SSA!!!
  7. You want to grab the T-Box this weekend? Getting married on Saturday. So I will be a on the busy side this weekend. I need to build a standard ported box or two for it also. The more sample boxes to test with the better.
  8. The proto should be here soon.

Ok, as mentioned before by Steve-o, many of the moderators on here are long time audio people and a good bunch of them were even here with us before the rebuild in 2002. We have a few new newer mods, they were brought on after being here for a long time and the increase in traffic needed it. But as a mod staff who I put in place, are a tight group, and are a mixed group of different skills, talents and sound preferences. Sean could spend $3k on his front stage, where as Kent could drop the same amount on his sub stage. Heck, even between Mark and I, there are different listening preferences and skills and backgrounds, and that is why we are different from other forums who are all bass heads or all SQ nuts, it is a quality mix of different people on the mod staff. Honestly, we really do not need as many mods as we have, but people have lives and cannot be here all that often, so others are here to pick up the slack if it needs to be. As mentioned by Ryan or Scott I believe, we work well as a group and discuss everything in detail and decide as a group. I am sure there are many things, I probably should just make an executive decision and not even bring it up in the mod section, but that is not how we do things here at SSA. It is a democracy in that respect. The weird thing about all of this is the sheer lack of moderation that is done here. This is due to little to moderation needed. The SSA forums, on average, more laid back and zero drama because the mass majority of people are respectful of others. There are so few "reported" posts that when one is reported it really sticks out. Most of the moderation here is Johnecon being on the ball and moving topics to their correct location, or someone else closing a duplicate topic etc. I can see all moderator logs and actions, so everything is on record, unless I purge them, which has never been done since the inception of the website. To get to the point, if there is ever a serious issue, drama filled topic, or problem, contact me, either through PM's or email, if you don't want to talk to a mod or deal with another member. I try to keep a level temper on here and I will talk with everyone involved and do my best to find a solution. Occasionally there is a topic that gets heated, but that is because SSA members are passionate about this hobby. But, due to the quality of the members here, it is very rare that a moderator has to step in, because people talk it out and come to an agreement or agree to disagree. I will not lock this because that is not who we are. If there is any questions after my post, always feel free to PM me regardless. I have a huge PM box for a reason. Please don't go after the mod staff or a member, shoot me a PM and we will work it out. kum ba ya
  10. Ferdinand > Funky Pup > All other sub woofers.
  11. Ecoustics has been notified lol. Looking forward to the pics Steve. How does it feel to know that the entire internet car audio world will be on your site at some point or another tonight? lol Thank you for posting resource link.
  12. Can't wait. I am sure there will be 50 topics on other forums in a matter of 4 minutes.
  13. Due to the bad fate of a corrupted server, CYVforums.com is no more. But, Patrick, the owner of CYV and I talked, and we decided to team up and join the members of CYV and CA-F. So if you are a CYV'er and looking for other CYV peoples, it is now at CarAudio-Forum.com. This way CYV is not gone, just in a different place.
  14. Yeah thats right.
  15. Nice work. Need to get an Icon in there to get the TeamSSAudio up to 3 vehicles.
  16. I have some LLP that is yet to be installed. But I think I am going to save it for my next car. Very high quality material. Great review.
  17. I just spoke to Stephen, and yes there are a few Deuces left in stock.
  18. SSA the speaker company is separate from SoundSolutionsAudio the forum. Yes, SSA subs have a forum section on the SoundSolutionsAudio forum, but they are two different things (one a privately owned company the other a public forum). In addition to what bigjohn said, you also are not paying for the name on SSA sub woofers, so the performance per dollar ratio is high compared to big name brands.
  19. Going to be a lot of sub for the money.
  20. I used to use Xenadrine from time to time, but I stay away from any thing that raises my heart rate for now.
  21. I could scan pictures of when I used to work there..... but I won't
  22. LB you should do a Hooters tour.
