  1. LB, if you have the Sundown 100.4, it has been popular with people going active 2-way with their fronts. If you don't want to worry about messing with the head unit crossover settings, you can run it flat and use the crossovers built into the amplifier (removing the passive external crossovers) and run the front channels to the tweets and cross them over high, and mids of the rears and cross them over low. As to how much overlap you like between the two will be found through testing, and where the crossover points are that your ears like will be found through adjusting them. My active front stage, that might get installed this year is much cheaper then any set of passive components that could be of comparable performance. I will be running separate amplifiers to the mids and highs, but I will venture to predict once dialed in, they will out shine my original RF Fanatic Q passives. Try it out and experiment, tuning is part of the fun.
  2. Jim did you ever consider that supermarket might be a gourmet supermarket in eastern France, and the OP lives in Frankfurt? Anyway, I agree with sir ramos, just live and let live, and if you can add something or offer help from experience great. I don't have a clue what I am labeled as, although I am sure people perceive SQsnoooob because of the Icon/SSA forums, but I do enjoy trying to build a loud system for high SPL #'s when I have time/money/equipment/vehicle to do so. I, as are 95% of most of all the audio forum members are, will never have the technical knowledge of Sean or the install skill of sir ramos, but we strive to learn to get there. I know I will never get the 300 to world class SQ winner, but I want be able to compete if I wanted to do so. As for the lil' trusty scooter, I just want to have great performance, be it clean/crisp sound that makes me happy, or clean mid's/high's and a substage to impress the dealers. So, well I don't think I helped this topic at all, but SSA as a collective is very good at trying to help everyone out.
  3. I fixed it
  4. If the drivers can stand up to the abuse testing mark does and the listening testing I do, it will do well.
  5. Still have to finalize a few parts first.
  6. Still a good video of the drivers, toss it up on TeamSSAudio.com if you want.
  7. I heard a few, actually wanted to grab one that was for sale a while back that was super cheap. But decided to use the MJ-18 for Home audio. I know that people who had them loved them for SQ.
  8. Wow.
  9. If I have enough left, I am going to try to put a layer down on the back of the interior panels.
  10. Good luck to everyone at SBN!
  11. I have the all the mono-blocks up. The 2 and 4 channels will be up later on. MTX Amps on SSA Shop
  12. I am updating the shop as I type this post.
  13. Dave, I have no excuse, I should have driven down for the show/b-day party.
  14. That ^^^ would be said competitor, ramos was part of that install also.
  15. We concluded here, that "S Q L" does not exist, so I have the software edit it to LSQ. As for the Icon itself, it just took first place in a big MECA SQ competition & best of show for SQ. But on top of that, check out all the recent videos people have been doing with Icon's that have tremendous output. So what I am saying is that it does well in both aspects, just depends on the install.
  16. Great sounding driver, blends well with front stage, awesome cone size per dollar.
  17. Update, I put the 12" proto Icon back in the 2.0@27hz.
  18. The Icon/Arsenal/IXL idea is a good one. All three will play clean and smooth across the freq range. But that is effected by the quality of the box. I am heavily biased towards the Icon because it is our driver.
  19. Aim for 34hz like Kent mentioned, and if you can go with 2.25 cubes that would be a great start. I love it in 2.0 @ 27hz, but it is not meant for high output in that box.
  20. The 1500D has a heck of a good track record.
  21. THanks for the heads up, only Cadence should be bought from JasonPaul, a Cadence Tech.
  22. Well done Sean!!
