  1. wire brush or take some heavy grit sand paper and remove a patch of paint to where you will be locating your grounding point. try to locate the frame of the car and use it as a grounding point. what i did for grounding my red top was i drilled a hole in my tunk right next to a frame like bar(my cars a uniframe) and grouned it there. after screwing in the ground i spray painted some rustoleum on it. in the pics are before re-painting. the ground cable is less than 2 ft long.
  2. yea ill post pics, you think sealed would be a good idea? i can't say, i've never heard any of Fi's subs except for the X series. nor have i run sealed subs for more that 1-2hrs. plus i don't think the BL's can really go in sealed enclosures. :/ i suppose if you wanted to stay in the lines of running Fi's you could sell your BL 18 and buy 2 18Q's and run them sealed. or sell the 18 and buy 2 BL 15's and run them ported.
  3. you could fit 2 but sealed. if you fiberglassed everywall of the trunk i'm pretty sure you could gain about 14-17cubes to run them ported, but that's a WHOLE lot of fiberglassing and the box wouldn't be able to be taken out. though still be able to get 2 18's got any pics of your how much space your current setup is taking up?
  4. does it work with christmas lights????
  5. i recently had my car towed from a private tow company that a Club in downtown Miami goes through. my alarm has distinctive chirps to notify me whether an entry was made or if my alarm was disarmed and such. when i had un armed my alarm i was notified by the chirps of a Disarm+Intrusion that was made into my car. i had just taken this into consideration that the tower needed to enter the car to release the E-brake since the truck they had was a dolly truck to not cause damage to my car. i would assume that most companies do this if necessary. plus i had a ton of stuff in the car at that time. 2 digi cams, my ipod, a friends Archos(dmp-vr) money, clothes, cd's and all my equipment in the trunk. yet nothing was missing, and this being my car was basically in the ghetto. edit: oh i know this is an old thread and all but to the OP. the back pack was probraly taken since it's an easy item to get away with. plus people store lots of things like cd-players or money or things which can be a hit or miss in prized possesions. your books were in there, to you it's worth a lot sicne your in school, to them they probrably just threw them away
  6. "GRANDMA DID YOU FART AGAIN?!?!?!"
  7. hm.. after you decide on which subs you get why not just buy some box plans off him and build it yourself? not trying to effect his buisness or anything but you could save more money just building the box yourself. plus it would be a great learning experience.
  8. for a budget system it will work fine, just be easy on the gains.
  9. i'd buy it for 15 bucks. then plant some nice tulips in it, or maybe some of those little bamboo plants that you water every once in a while. lol i really can't say how good or bad they are as i never played with them. but if you can get it for the cheap then go for it and give a review.
  10. if you already bought it new from ebay is it offered with warrenty on the side from another company? if so get it with the insurance/warrenty just to be safe. i got mine off ebay fer like ehh 350 and added the 30 extra for 3yrs insurance/warrenty. well worth it. 3 months of use it broke and factory warrenty was voided since not puchased from anauthorized dealer. so if you still have the time get it, just to be safe. should be from a company called SquareTrade. the amp will do you good. just be good to it.
  11. depends on what amperage output your alt does. if you put lets say for example a 100amp fuse in line when you have a stock 130amp alt, when the alt starts producing max voltage the fuse will pop. but if you have lets say a 100amp fuse and an 80amp stock alt. then your good to go. check what your stock alt is rated to do, than just go a bit above it.
  12. remove the sub and check all wire connections. it could be a loose connection that when certain frequencies or such are moving it out of place which could cause it to cut out yet the amp still stay on. could be even a pinched wire. check your wires..
  13. when playing your set-up does the smell begin after a few songs with pounding bass? or would it just start smelling after 1 song? the sub is rated at 1600 but your using the brutus2k on it, even though they probably don't make rated by just a little it could be that your over powering or maybe clipping it lightly enough to cause the coils to heat up and smell after a while of use. it could be also that you are using this SPL oriented sub for a daily low-end driver which may be adding stress onto the speaker(my theory).
  14. fuse both 1/0ga and the 4ga after the distro block if the distro block is not fused. if your amps are close enough(mounted close enough together) and the gounding lenght 1ft-2ft is close enough than a grounding distro is not necessary. just ground them together. i have my amps grounded seperatly as both my amps are mounted on each side of the trunk.

  16. so much presure it's makin the bushes shake! sweet vid. is the setup now with the amps re-wired down to .5 strapped or still like before? will they be strapped down only for burps or for daily?
  17. ya...I understand that...I just wanted to save myself.... the Shipped time and time of signature was 2 Friggin PM!....we're open...we're not out to lunch.....Someone is there all the time.....at that time especially. So UPS guy jacked it is the only explanation.....or...mis delivered...but then why YIP for the signer? have you even called UPS yet to ask where the driver delivered the package to? if the driver delivered it to the wrong location then he should still able to retrive the package from the wrong location and return it to you. it has happened before(not with me) but to someone else.
  18. hate to sound like an ass but, that subs gone. you should have just gotten it sent to your house. even if you aren't there they could of left you an attempted shipping notice in which you could have called UPS and asked to just pick up the package from the warehouse. they have done that with numerous items here at my place since no one is ever home and i just pick it up at the warehouse. maybe next time? good luck though.
  19. lol, i'm a jakcalope and didn't count the 2 350's correctly. what do they all produce at low rpms? edit: haha jackalope..
  20. 3 300's. or if possible save up some more and get 3 350's.
  21. only downside from rotating the center outside bar is that the model label would be upside down.
  22. very very nice build. really inspires me to start on mine though i still have a lot of planning to do and no funds till later. can you get a vid of how much movement the car does? i'm a fan of flexing on vehicles
  23. he used a 3.5mm headphone jack which carry more than 1 wire. though i still see BS in it even working. did you see the one about charging an ipod with an onion and some gatorade? lol. and he connected one wire to the penny and the other to..... exactly. both - & + are twisted up. so there are more than 1 wires. though he did not seperate them to get the 2 seperate connections. look at the size of the twisted up wire compared to the rest of the jacket.. if that was 1 wire that would be some thick wire for that little cable.

  25. that VHT nightshade seems interesting. though reading further on the forum thread some of the users stated their spayed lights began to crack after about 1 year. though i'm still curious and well i'm really considering on this as a project. lol i really need something to do as everything is at a stand still right now. with that i'm also looking at switching the bulbs with L.E.D.s just to help the visibility when braking. better to be safe than sorry. a question though to anyone that may or may not know but let's say that the spaying went bad, would it be possible to use a paint thinner solvent to remove the sprayed on tinting?
