has Fi started shipping the heli-cool for the BTL yet?
im not too sure.... scott just told me they would be shipping by monday (10/29). they are suppose to be more efficient and cool the subs and coils down even more. he said no extra cost either, its just suppose to be simply in place of it

some of my new sexy toys came in the other day
lol, yeah i know but they were actually the nicest 6x9 boxes i could find, they're built well and like the black carpet with the embroidery. im sure they will hold up and sound better then those other 5 minute glue-together boxes that some chinese guy is selling on ebay for 10 bucks

Different Impedances
the one at 4 ohm puts less strain on your electrical system. and if you configure your wire for a 2 ohm load and use the amp that puts out 1000 @ 4 ohm, you'll actually be getting more then 1000 watts (taken its not under rated and the amp is 2 ohm stable) because there is less resistance. the one that puts out 1000 at 2 ohm probally puts somewhere around 700 watts at 4 ohm.

How Loud :D
sorry it cant be that simple but theres going to be ALOT more that factors into that then just speaker size and quantity. its all about brand and model, how much power, what type of enclosure will it be in. you'd have to get alot more specific

i live in lynchburg, about an hour away from roanoke or charlottesville. a little bit more then a hour and a half from richmond. where are you from? i really think its too late though to go active, because my 4 channel would be WAYYYY TOO MUCH just to power the front 6.5's and then the tweeters.
-
some of my new sexy toys came in the other day
yeah, what would you recommend i do then? since i had no plan for the HU amp, could i bridge the 4 channels into two channels and then use the 4 channel amp to run the tweeters and the speakers active? or im not too educated on anything besides subs. so can someone please just give me some advice? thanks -wes

sub wiring
if your amps are going into protect mode whether it be faulty wiring or over heating, then you can most likely expect that something bad is going to happen if you run 1 amp per coil. your best bet, would be to pay a few bucks and save your self the damage you will do to your equipment and take it to a local professional who can better diagnose the problem

2002 Caddy on bagz...8 Fi BTL 18's, 2 RF T15k amps (new vid pg 31)
i wonder how many people have already busted a nut looking at this thread... if so please say I

sub wiring
the second one is correct for achieving a 2 ohm load. if you have dual 1, wiring in parallel will give you the half ohm load which is most likely why your amps are going into protect mode. most amps cannot handle the effects of running a half ohm load thus overheating or something else and realizing something messed up so they shut themselves off. with dual 1 and wiring in series, you will achieve a 2 ohm load which is much, much more safe for yours amps.
