~~ SSA Protoype super8 ~~
These are still coming, just at the moment our first priority at the moment is getting the Dcon 10/12 out there and getting the Xcon to market. Definitely! I want some pictures and videos to look at of the X's while he still marvels over the touchscreen my friend and I put in his car for him. It'll be a while judging from his wanting to sit in the car and watch a movie a few minutes before (or during) a ride.

Crunch GP3000d Pro vs US amps Xt4000
So Duran, you responded to my quote here where I said the US Amps won't even do 4000 watts on it's best day. You responded with where do you get your info from US Amps is a reputable company and will do it's rated power. Next time don't question me if it has nothing to do with what question your asking. I NEVER said that they wouldn't do rated power. I said they won't ever do 4000 watts on it's best day which US Amps claims is the dynamic power as well as where they get the XT4000D from. Now he was also asking if the Crunch was a better amp than the US amps and as far as power the Crunch does TWICE the rms as the US. So therefore CRUNCH>US Amps. NEWB!!! lol Relax. Get down off your pedestal. I don't like reading a reply and getting irritated at the mood of the commenter. I don't want to sound like a dick, but you came off really rude.

Build log for 1996 Chevy Lumina- The Blue Fury
Small update: Installed the 880 and boxed up the 490 to install in my other car at a much later time. After fiddling with it and learning how to use some of the options, (not yet even applying all of them) I love it! The iPod adapter is kinda slow, but its definitely tolerable. It's not as bad as the people that write terrible reviews make it seem. Also the built in volt meter reads .3 volts higher than my DMM reads so I'll have to remember that in case it ever becomes necessary. No time to work on mounting the speakers last week, its not looking good this week either thanks to school.

Sundown Audio Amp Review And Amp Lights ?
Maybe just one if you can fit that on top of the amp(s) and batteries, IF you don't modify the back seat to use it for box space. I suggest adding a bit of bracing in the box if you can do it even tho the glue is dry.

8in midbass
Wouldn't it be pretty easy to make a .5cft pod for it?

Build log for 1996 Chevy Lumina- The Blue Fury
That would be fine with me and it would be pretty easy to do on the drivers side, but on the passenger side the airbag gets in the way iirc.

Build log for 1996 Chevy Lumina- The Blue Fury
The thing that made me switch the mid and tweeter was the little heater vent: Here is the clearance obviously not including the thickness of the mount: Straight forward with magnet touching windshield Angled upward with ring and magnet touching windshield

Build log for 1996 Chevy Lumina- The Blue Fury
Since the site was down yesterday I didnt get to add this so I might have mislead you to believe that this was the one and only location I was going to try. But thanks for the constructive feedback, it's exactly what I need to get it right. I should mention that I used cardboard because I knew I would move things around. This is one option for mounting and its not hard to figure out that it'll be pretty distracting, but it was the easiest to set up and best for imaging. I cut the baffle down to a more realistic shape and its still big. On to option two. That first picture is what I based the first position off of, but the magnet on the mid is so damn big! The next position I'll try will be inspired by the first and the second picture.

Build log for 1996 Chevy Lumina- The Blue Fury
This time around I kept everything in the car for every layer and it's coming out way better. The cardboard isn't the final shape of the baffle, its more for positioning, getting an angle and an extra hand for the tweeter. The tube is a substitute magnet for the mid to show exactly how much clearance I have without using the speaker itself. I just took these about a half hour ago while I was making cut lines on the fiberglass base. Only the driver one has this much progress, I'm going to do everything but wrap it in vinyl before I continue the passenger mount. They are facing the middle passenger and will angle upward towards the head. Driver window: Driver headrest: Driver view: Middle passenger ear position: Front passenger: Here's where I'd like some advice. Does the position look good so far? There isn't a whole lot I can do to change it in that location, but little suggestions still will help.

Here are those Vifa tweeters I did some work a week or 2 ago... I got as far as 2 layers of mat and 1 of fleece but it ended up warping during the last drying period. Wasn't really mad because I figured it would happen. BTW that's a red pipe cleaner in the shape of a guitar I got as part of a birthday gift. I just realized that in the picture it's partially blocked so it looks kinda naughty.
