  1. MODS LOCK THIS PLEASE. SORRY FOR STARTING SHIT HERE.
  2. ALTON WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO CHANGE IT, READ THE HIGHLIGHTED PART. YOUR POST TRYING TO MAKE ME LOOK DUMB
  3. on the real. talk about immature. you still cant admit you made a mistake trying to PROVE me wrong. all i did was help out a few SSA members, they thanked me, then i get a message from you saying FIRST PM "I saw your recent posts on the SA-8 pre-sale thread and wanted to talk to you without cluttering up the thread any worse. Real Aero ports are already flared, both ends. I don't think there's anything wrong with trying to help someone out. I'd just really like to know how many years of REAL installation and fabrication experience you have to be giving advice and judging other peoples designs. I have been building and designing enclosures for quite literally more than half my life and don't go nit picking and commenting on everyone's enclosure designs that they post. You'd think someone who was qualified to give out enclosure advice would know that Aero ports are already flared, which leads me to believe you've not got that much REAL experience, which is what caused me to make this correspondence with you. Please, if you have REAL valuable input then please post it, otherwise please keep the comments to yourself. Also, 12-16 sqin of port area per cuft is the recommendation for slot ports generally, and half that is usalbe with a real Aero port without making any noticable port noise. Again, that's a general rule and doesn't apply to every case. Sorry if it seems like I'm ranting or being an arseho, just wanting to make sure you're aware of how your advice is sounding to some of the rest of us. You're reputation is already in the red, I would rather help you help yourself than watch everyone attack you again." JESUS CHRIST i hope a few members on the sundown forums can chime in and say all i did was try to help, if you or any members got offended then im very sorry. but most of them thanked me.

  5. sure pal. why cant you just admit your wrong, before i post your pm calling a few members on here NOOBs. this has gone way to far with you. you thought i was a newb and you got owned im done with your petty shit.
  6. Thanks for your input. its kinda hard to debate with 2 people.
  7. this is ALTONS post "FYI the box is EXACTLY in the middle of the specs Fi gives for the 12" Q's. Fi recommends 1.8 to 2.4cuft as optimal for a 12" Q, 3.6 to 4.8 for two obviously. If you notice the notes I specifically mention 4.2cuft NET which means before displacements, there's nothing wrong with the space I've given for the Q's." and i STEALTH said "actually net means after displacements. gross is before. lol" ALTON said "taken directly from the dictionary buddy: gross    /groʊs/ Show Spelled [grohs] Show IPA adjective,-er, -est, noun, pluralgross for 11, gross·es for 12, 13; verb –adjective1.without deductions; total, as the amount of sales, salary, profit, etc., before taking deductions for expenses, taxes, or the like (opposed to net): gross earnings; gross sales. net 1   /nɛt/ Show Spelled [net] Show IPA noun, verb, net·ted, net·ting. –noun 10.Mathematics. the abstraction, in topology, of a sequence; a map from a directed set to a given space. to help with that word: ab·strac·tion    /æbˈstrækʃən/ Show Spelled[ab-strak-shuhn] Show IPA –noun1.an abstract or general idea or term. 2.the act of considering something as a general quality or characteristic, apart from concrete realities, specific objects, or actual instances. 3.an impractical idea; something visionary and unrealistic. 4.the act of taking away or separating; withdrawal: The sensation of cold is due to the abstraction of heat from our bodies" PS IM JUST TRYING TO FIND OUT WHAT IS CORRECT WITHOUT DEBATING WITH 1 PERSON.
  8. actually yours is more geared for output... that is more than recommended port area. not sq oriented. Noit quite right it's a horn. The line is around 7 ft long. well how come you didnt say so.
  9. stealth replied to elastic's topic in General Fi
2 18s qs sealed would sound so good. it would be ear candy with no fatigue. but if your going for 150 then thats a negative.
  10. ALTONS PM TO ME. did i not help some of you. if im being a dick trying to help guys please let me know. i am only here to help. PS alton, i know a decent amount about car audio. 11. this box should have some mean output.
  12. not bad. my question is who do you live with . also you might wanna rethink your port area. its not in an optimal range. depending what you are trying to do i guess. you will have port turbulence. make sure you at least flare it because you have like 8 sq inches of port per. I do live with my parents so that helps not having to pay rent yet haha but as far as all the rest of my stuff i pay for. umm ya the ports i bought are the 4" flared aeroports. Its gonna be my daily setup but if you have any recommendations im completely open to try them. eastman, if you can add 1 more 4 inch port in there it would be perfect for daily. it would give approx 12.5 per.
  13. yup, up to you man. but its al lil small. especially for aeros. generally aeros are more efficient, but you will hear port turbulence with that small of a port. do me a favor and at least make sure you flare them. that should help slightly.
  14. actually yours is more geared for output... that is more than recommended port area. not sq oriented.
  15. let me get this straight. you are comparing 4 12s vs 2 12s??? thats noobtastic.
  16. when you take off your Fi audio shirt only to put on a sundown audio shirt.
  17. yup, glad you got it straightened out before the box was built.
  18. is that an 800prs or 880?
  19. bro you could get much more output if you rethink your port area as well. you got like 5sq inches of port per cube. thats less than half of what it should be.
  20. sorry bro but your math is a little off. its 28.26 per port. double check it.
  21. sounds like my exact build. im going 33hz though.
  22. steve are you planning on going straight spl. by the looks of your tuning freq. i say no. but you might wanna try lower your port area a lil. youre at a little over 18 per and i think itll sound like doots that big. also for daily handling it looks like your gonna add choke power. mechanically handling will also drop with that port area.
  23. not bad. my question is who do you live with . also you might wanna rethink your port area. its not in an optimal range. depending what you are trying to do i guess. you will have port turbulence. make sure you at least flare it because you have like 8 sq inches of port per.
  24. No, I cut the back out of the pod right behind the woofer and added the PVC piece to vent in to the doors. I sealed the doors up the best I could. It is a big improvment, but there is still some tuneing to be done as well as stopping the buzz created by the woofer pods and the panel. All that buzz cant be helping the sound so I am sure there is more in there if I work them over a bit. I have always wanted a 3 way set with nice bass. I hope with some more work I can improve on these a little. They are not far off, but I am picky and I want them to hit a little harder than they do. It's in there I just got to find it. aperiodic those bad boys.
  25. ok stinkbox. im done playing wit you guys. jacob sorry for messin up the thread.
