  1. Choose what YOU want. You can't really go wrong with what you've selected, BUT if it were me, I would choose the Dcon.
  2. If you don't go by the "12-16 rule" how do you correctly calculate port displacement? Say a complete newbie comes in and wants to build a box, what would you tell him for the port? (How would you figure it out) Is 12-16 usually used because it's a safe medium?
  3. To each his own.
  4. Or it could act as a trampoline propelling the waves! Actually, I have no idea. Good question though. I assume this is for comp purposes? I can't imagine much difference to the ear.
  5. If it where me I'd buy the DC's with the Sundown amp.
  6. Once you hear those monster low's you wont even care about high's. Like Jason said thats what midbass is for. I hate high 40hz and above notes. You listen to bass testers all day?
  7. When are you thinking of purchasing? Jacob does have that new woofer in design. Maybe inquire about the XCON too.
  8. I've never ordered from there, but that does sound pretty shady.
  9. Have you looked at their damplifier pro line?
  10. After you get your box built, you'll just have to show them what an "internet brand" can do. And why you'll keep buying them!
  11. Welcome!
  12. I can't imagine 0.5 cubes will make any real difference in power handling. And if you're worried about it, just set your gains conservatively.
  13. What's the power rating on that amp?
  14. I think you'll be fine. Bass knob ftw.
  15. I shipped my Rockford P400.4 out today and I should be seeing a SAX50.4 in the near future!
  16. Haha. I TRIED AND TRIED to get him to buy my Sundown SD1 v2's. He would have nothing to do with them though. I also decided to go with a sealed box for space reasons.
  17. Thanks man. I'll post my sketch up rendering later.
  18. It "slipped" out when you used a vice??
  19. Sure, why not! Thank man.
  20. Thanks for the recommendations guys, I think I'm going to give this one a try. Trust me, if it were up to me we'd be running a different woofer.
  21. I voted for active, but I haven't built yet. I need to wait for the snow to melt....I believe I'll be running MLI6.5's and seas neo tweeters though.
  22. I have max dimensions, but I know I won't need them.
  23. Thanks. Seriously, thank you.
  24. I got a phone call from my buddy today and he wants me to build an enclosure for his step dad's jeep. The woofer is a 12" Sony Xplode that he used to have in his truck. I have NO experience with this woofer. What would you guys, if you have experience with it, recommend for the airspace for a ported enclosure? I'm not sure on the power, I'm assuming like 300w though.
