  1. After reading a few things here and there, I think I'm going to go with a 2way + sub setup as it's my first attempt at active. I will be using a 10" SSA Icon for my sub in a sealed enclosure. Depending on what Jacob comes out with by summer will determine what amp I will be using for the sub. I want to power the front stage with a 100.4. As far as drivers I have yet to determine what I want to run (As all I have run are a set of infinity coax's and infinity components. Both of which has rather harsh sounding highs.). SQ is the main concern with this system. I mainly listen to classic rock, and a little modern rock. EDIT: I want to use the stock locations for my mid bass which is kinda low in the door panel. I think I'll use the old Velcro method for the tweeter mounting. What drivers would you suggest I look at?
  2. I, too, am interested.
  3. Alright, thanks guys. M5, you have an 880 right? How do you have yours set up? Could it be possible (would it be practical) to run the signal from the 3 preamp outputs to tweeters, midrange, and midbass (allowing the HU to do all the processing at that point) and then rely on your amp for the crossover on the sub?
  4. I would run 0/1 for power from the battery (remember to fuse it by the battery). Buy a distribution block and run 4 awg out of it to the amps (also fuse these I believe). You also might want to look into a secondary battery. What type of vehicle you have will determine how much wire you will need. So what is it going in?
  5. Eh, to each his own I suppose.
  6. I'm curious...I'll just wait for you to give us a review denim!
  7. I'm looking on JL's website and it shows that the 1000/1 does 1000watts at 1.5 ohms. I bet it would be stable at 1 ohm, but I've never used one. I'd wait for someone who has run one to chime in on that, and if it is get the D2. All those options you mentioned are correct.
  8. Great news! Buy these up guys.
  9. It's a good match for rap.

I'd shop around for a different amp if it were me. Look into the new SAE1200D from Sundown or an SAZ1500D.
  11. I think 2 10" Icons would be pretty sweet.

If you get two subs, and wire them to a 2ohm COMBINED load you will get watts per 400 per sub. If you wire them to a 1 ohm COMBINED load you will get 750 watts per sub. I was kinda of confused on what you said. Are you getting one sub or two?
  13. Excellent work!
  14. u dont know chit !!!!!!! so shut up !!!! i said about the GTO series(ENTERY LEVEL)!! not about JBL and YES i heard the GTIs and they r great subs .... so read before u talk CRAP !!! First off, grow up. Secondly, you were not very clear on what you said earlier.
  15. Impressive as always, Steve. How many years have 'been on the scene'? (Doing installs mainly)
  16. I can't imagine 0.1^3 ft would make an audible difference. I could be wrong though!
  17. Velcro will help some.
  18. Mr. Clean Magic Eraser I believe.
  19. What do you use for your HDR? Photoshop, photomatrix?

That would be a really good combo! Do it to it!
  21. I was 125 my freshman year at 5'8". Senior football season I was 185 solid at that height. And I agree bodyweight exercises are great!
  22. Start out slow, form is everything. You don't need to load your body up with supplements either. If you want to do supplements I'd suggest starting out with protien shakes.
