I've always wondered what chicken looked like and now on the SMD board i finally got a pic. Now about the non watered down version of the video. I still haven't seen it. I wasn't feelin the little mesh at first i liked the expanded metal way more. But now as i've seen it in a few pics i think it looks great. Its gonna look awesome all over the truck. However i don't know about over the ports. Even if it doesn't restrict the flow just something about ports. I like to be able to stick my arm in them. My first active setup i ended up blowing out a mid. But i've not had any problems with my tweeters.

BUT the question is: does he want to be pimpin or beatin? Because if pimpin is what he's looking for then SoloX is the way to go. HOWEVER. I'm a kicker dealer. And honestly i'd recommend the BTLs before the SoloXs. That warhorse is meant for 2 Xs. If you buy those soloXs you'd better get a few spairs too. Because after you burp them a few times you going to start blowing coils. I've heard some horror stories from people with SoloXs. Not to mention the BTLs will have better SQ. If your're really interested in the Xs look at this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2naLBwmAvww But personally I'd rather something like steve meades escalade he was workin on with the 8 18s and 2 15kw. BUT you could easily power 4 BTLs with the warhorse. Its a badass amp to be sure. I'd recommend it over the maxxsonics crap anyday of the week with either of your setups

Ok so i had an AVIC-D3 while back. I liked it i like the Navi more than anything else. Barely watched DVDs on it. And I'm selling my CDA-9887 now. SO its time for a new headunit, preferably double-din. So heres my question. Whats a good Double-Din. I was eyeing the AVIC-Z2 or Z3 but its just too expensive. I've been looking at eclipse and panasonic. Even clarion for a little while but not anymore. Also Alpine has the new IVA-W505 which looks pretty sexy. So if anyone has an idea or suggestion lemme know. Looking for ease of use, good looks, and good navi. excellent sound.

well the zapco is serious equipment. But just seems like the SQ is overkill for a BTL. especially an 18. Altho i'd be very interested in hearing the outcome.

I haven't tried the relay thing yet. I'm sure it works. However. here at work we just hook the park wire from the radio into a switch and ground the other side with the radio ground and it works just fine. just an fyi

I have someone who called my store today (we do car audio). And he asked if we did stereo's in offices. Well we don't but i do setup home stereos. So i figure how hard can it be. Well apparently alot more so than i thought. He is coming by later today with a floor plan and the exact stuff he wants. He wants to have volume controls in 7 different rooms. Its a chiropractic office. So he wants to be able to adjust the volume independantly. He didn't mention PA functions but i'm sure he'd like to have it. So basically what i'm asking is what do you think would be good hardware for this application. I was doing some research and found these Bogen in ceiling. http://www.bogen.com/products/pdfs/selfamp...dfs/ACD2X2s.pdf There are also non amplified versions. But these would seem to be the easiest to install and setup. Also he's looking to be able to input XM radio. But also possible a PC with media on it and also to go stream audio. Thats no problem i can take care of that easy. Its just the reciever that i'm boggled on atm. When he comes by i'm going to ask what he has in mind for a Spending limit for the Equipment. He already got a quote from a company in town that does this kind of thing. But only gave me a few details on the equipment. Looks like it was some of the Bogen stuff. However they were going to put a PC into the equation. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thnx guys :edit: The 70volt systems are looking best for the situation. I've not used these before but it doesn't look too difficult to figure out. However if anyone thinks it to be really difficult i'll just let the job go. But i think this can be rather fun. Just need to figure out what to use.

well things are still wack. defenitly got a bad set of RCAs. I tried flippin the deck over to regular instead of active. And ran all the speakers to the xovers so i could just listen to them until i get a chance tomorrow to swap all. The passive actually sounds pretty good. I've plesantly suprised with the midbass response actually.

how bad is it to run an active setup and still use the xovers for just the tweets? I'm going to switch the deck back to normal tomorrow too and just try to run it passive to see if the amp still gets hot. But i still need advice....

Started the Highs for my car. Subs and sub amp have been removed. right now is just highs and mids. CDA-9887, Sundown SAX-100.4, Kicker RS6.5 comps. Now i'm trouble shooting the setup. And the sundown is running hot. So its been an intersting day. sigh was taken with a cell phone. so quality is pretty crappy

1. back to the inputs. you can see both ends of the RCA in the pic. 2. I don't have a multimeter at the house but i'll be sure to check it tomorrow.

Ok so i'm on my first active setup. I have a set of kicker RS6.5 comps. on a sundown SAX-100.4. When we hooked everthing up and tested it for the first time the tweets were working and the mids weren't. So i started unplugging RCAs, if i move around one set of RCAs then i get mids and highs out of only one side. I can even manage to get both tweets but not the passenger midbass to work. So first i thought maybe either RCAs or Bad input. Well turned out the midbass was grounding out. FIXED. Ok now i can't get bother left and right to work unless i run another set of RCAs from the output side to the input side. see pic..... So now i figure that i have a bad set of RCAs. So i'm about to rip all the BI***es out. And put new ones. BUT I was setting up the system. Tuning the CDA-9887. Right now the amp is set on ALL PASS. the tweets run into the xovers and then to the tweets. my installer made me do this. He said that the little lights in the xover would keep the heat off the tweets so as not to "COOK" them. Maybe tomorrow i'll try taking the tweets off of the xover. Now this leads to my other problems. When I go about setting the crossover on the deck. there are 4 bands. low, Mid-L, Mid-H, Hi. now i've not any subs hooked up so the Low portion don't do jack. The mid-L works, So does the Mid-H, however the mid-H seems to be working the tweeters. And the Hi, has no affect what soever on my tweets no matter the frequency or the gain or the slope. PLEASE ADVISE...... And last but not least. The amp is getting SUPER HOT. all of my gains are set at no more than 1/4 because the deck at vol. 20 is supposed to be putting out about 4Vrms. And i'll admit with a little tweaking the mids are kickin pretty good and the tweets sound ok. But this amp is gettin hot, and after about 15-20mins of adjustments, notonly did the amp shutdown but so did my deck O.O....EEEK. PLEASE ADVISE. Um i think thats about it. I'm new to the Active thing so please be gentle. LOL. Any questions for clarity let me know. I can take some pictures if neccesary too. just let me know what u need pictures of

Nothing important to add to this endless calamity of grammar naziisms. LOL. Altho after reading all of this i do understand where the misunderstandings come from. i know i don't always use grammar or punctuations properly. But alot of it i do on purpose. probably about 50% of the time on purpose. LOL
