  1. I don't think i'm understanding you. What plans specifically?
  2. I have read that T-lines can be more efficient (sound produced vs power used), as well as beneficial to drivers with less motor strength. I have had ported boxes, several actually, and i like them overall, but the low low end is stil a bit lacking, and though it might be corrected with a bigger box, or little more power, that isn't really an option. Basically, i am after efficiency.
  3. I have saved a little money for some wood, and still have glue, clamps and screws from my other box. I wanted to give building a T-line a try since i have heard fairly good things about them. It's just a for fun box, for my 12" visonik i got a while back. Amp and power and all that is covered, it's going in the house for now (no car til who knows when >.<). it's for music, primarily low notes in rap music. i was gonna try for a tuning of ~27-29hz. Now on to the hard part. I havent had alot of computer time recently, but in the time i have had, i couldnt find a calculator for a 1/4th wave transmission line. The specs i can give you for my sub: 250rms rated (takes double fine for a couple hours) 8mm xmax between 6"-8" mounting depth, and overall, in every box i've had it performs extremely well for a $20 sub, brand new. How do i calculate length for the line? Box will be 3/4" mdf. Size Is Not an issue. Thanks for your answers, looking forward to this project. Gotta get this done, severe boredom and grounding has landed my poor sub in a cardboard box (took the time to reinforce and deaden the cardboard too ). Sadly it still sounds better than my radio
  4. Why are you using two 12's and two 15's?!
  5. Nope, not even close.

  7. I'm diggin' the basket style, along with the wide surround
  8. My friend got the pair for $200 + shipping. They are used. My friend is gettin homework out the ass in AP english, so it may be a few days for pics.
  9. Idk about by you, but home depot here has a 4ftx8ft 3/4" sheet of mdf for like, $8. not bad at all.
  10. Lol M5 I am inquiring, as my friend has one AQ2200D already, and is planning on upgrading to two more Type R's, and WAS planning on selling the first amp and getting an AQ3500D, but decided against it, and is just buying another 22. Thanks Shizzzon, as i read it, that makes sense, so shouldn't be too hard to do. Once he gets the other amp, i will wire it up and post a few pictures, to be sure. To clear it up, the tech guy totally raped the school internet setup so googling it didnt exactly work. Quick box question: he currently has two Type R's in a bestbuy prefab (not bad for a prefab, but still leaves alot to be desired) rear firing ported in the middle in his ford taurus. since we will be building the box for the four twelves, what would be louder to the ear; all four facing up, port back, or four facing the rear, port back. we have the room to do either so space isnt an issue. both are with rear deck speakers removed, seats up.
  11. I'm really at a point where I honestly have no idea what i want to get. I am already storin up my first years insurance money, and once i get a solid job, the money for the car itself. I know for a fact i am gettin a '00 ford explorer 4dr, there is a man selling several (like 8!) so i'll grab the black one when the money is right. I have said a whole lotta stuff in the past, just from eyeballin other people setups. I think i'd do better off to ask people who actually have expereince, more than booksmarts, what they would do in a given situation. Goal is alotta SPL on music. SQ doesnt hurt, but loud is the priority. The possibilites i have come up with: Four icon 15's on two AQ2200D's Two 18" BTLs on a Sundown 4500D Two 18" IXL on an AQ2200D Six pioneer 12's (the 1000rms models) on a pair of AQ2200D's Bell is ringing, All you SUV owners chime in, I'd like to hear your guys thoughts.
  12. Measuing 3ohms if fine. It simply means the coils are a little less resistive cold, than when they have been playing for a few hours.
  13. Oh lol, i wish. Mom thinks my headphones are loud from the other side of the couch It would be a simple short term bangin setup (with a changeble port for burps) with minimal modifications, and a big shiny easy-to-see on/off switch. I would have to glass a box for the rear battery, and hide all the wires, you know, make it look nice. I was just nagging her to let me use the hatch til i get my explorer ($3000 away....) I will most likely make it so i can just unplug the wires and remove the box when not being driven by me, seeing as mom uses her trunk fairly often. The fusion 15's are a bit chunkier, with a much wider surround. The manual said something about being made to be inverted, which i figured meant the motor is just prettier. they are dual4, and the subs terminals are hex bolts. I don't really know how else to describe them, i'll have my friend email me some pics to post up on here.
  14. Due to my inability to use the SSA search feature (i'm guessing it's the school computers) could anyone either post a link to another thread, or a simple diagram on how to do so? *the tech guy at our school screwed up yesterday and programmed all sites not relating to school stuff (search engines too, once an non related search was given) to be locked automatically . it turned out his parameters were much too vague . He is untangling it now, or i woulda used google.
  15. Gotta watch myself Nice addition.
  16. x2 Box size will affect power handling. Bigger means less power is needed, smaller can handle more.
  17. There is a chance for that on the next version of the Icon, but it is not finalized yet. Cool. Can't wait....
  18. Too late to sneak in a "x7" ? A few hundred watts wont make very much difference in this situation.
