I have that crap on my 6160, don't think amps have that, I think it goes to a processor then converts back to rca to the amps lol. I've never looked into it cause I think the sq is fine... I have a high end alpine deck in the wifes car and can't really tell a difference... got the alpine on a trade for my MT 18" and I kinda wish I didn't do it

did u use the digital optical out on it? I don't have sq problems with mine... I don't know what you mean by loud it's a deck... I don't use the onboard amp if that's what you're saying... as for the rca's I don't have any sq problems with it... clean and clear and under control clearasilish imo.. especially with a comp set on my dash I'm sure I'd notice bad sq.. you can hear when songs are distorted, in fact you don't even ever hear the door speakers lol

what u mean....a discount on the Sundowns? or Autotek? We dont carry Autotek. I just meant, if you were to choose Sundown. Dudue from Sundown keeps telling me to get dual 2ohm subs and strap em @2ohm which will only give me around 1500 per sub. I wanted a lil more wattage than that. Im thinking now the Autotek may be my best bet because if would be around the same price as what I would get 2 sundowns for and Id have a whole 1000rms more. I've had a pair of mm4000.1ds when I was on team maxxsonics. they're loud... but in this case I'd probably take the pair of sundowns I'm sure they're a little underrated, and the autotek is overrated imo, so they'd be a little closer if you judge them like that... as far as only needing the big3 you've probably never ran a system that draws that much, or you're an idiot. or a little of both... I had big 3 0awg plus a blue top under the hood, and a pair of kinetik monster 2400's in the back and with a pair of autoteks I STILL got dimming, even my screens would dimm... so you can conclude a single autotek and 2400hc + half a blue top would still get mad dimming... so - the half bluetop and you'd get even MORE dimming... and the dimming was due to large voltage drops... I fried a genXX colossus from bad voltage drops... and these amps weren't my only decent amps... I fried my orion xtrpro 2400d from the same and sold my hcca 5000d brand new since I didn't want to cook that too LOL... long story short to run big power you'll need more than the big 3 done to your electrical system... and I speak from experience... in fact, at those points, in my car I didn't even have a mids amp, ran them off the deck, so if you have a mids amp, you'll get more dimming. I took it out because I was supposed to sell my car.. the tv's dimming I still had the mids amp in there, but never less than a pair of 2400hc kinetiks in the back plus the one batt under the hood... take that for what it's worth... when I fried the orion and colossus was with just the bluetop and no kinetiks, never fried an amp since getting the monster batts

then they should have removed the xeLoad since the amps do WAY sick power without it, and just make them stable to run 1.3ohms without xeload and a pair of strapped x1200.1ds would DESTROY An orion 2500d thanks... output would just be wasted... and as far as quality lol I won't even get into that... I sold my hcca5000d locally for $450 bnib.. my 1200d I still have and use.. but I prefer the x600.1 over it. and my old xtrpro 2400d... I'd WAY rather have a pair of x1200.1's over... 4ohm per they'd be better lol. and yes there is a way to strap them before anyone opens their mouth that doesn't know what they're talking about... it takes a module which has been available for years before the xenon's came out... and a pair of 1200s will do alot more that 2400rms we'll leave it at that and my 141.9@34hz is from a jetta trunk legal new TL off a single x600.1 with the bypass done via switch in speaker + lead. it gained a little over a dB I think... don't remember didn't test with xeload in a long time lol... I'm running it 2ohms so after imp rise I'm probably 4ohm or higher... so it'll still see only 800ish rms or less but I don't want to load it lower incase it cooks.. but it definetly does enough power imo lol

so how is the relationship with you/FI/Ascendant and Destijl? Do you own Destijl and FI is YOUR brand and you as Destijl are building Ascendants new stuff? Or are you even affiliated with Destijl? meaning are the subs now made by you under no other name as a build house than FI? and in turn is Ascendant merging with FI so there will be an internet only and dealer based company both working together or will the internet selling be stopped eventually? just alot of people asked similar questions before and I personally have no idea so I'm curious as well. if it was brought up I'm certain it was before the crash, and as you can see from my date registered I didn't partake in the postivities much before the crash lol . thanks, Tom

IF I had to guess I'd say incriminator 40.1 or possibly the new large Atomic/Cactus/Adassa 7kw amp is out... and rated stupid low lol.. those are the only amps that are THAT underrated that I know of... AB VFL 700.1 would pull in that category too...

to be honest I don't think you need to figure cubic footage... the guy sells it at .7 then it's more than likely close. a little large or small isn't going to cause problems for the driver, it'll just give different sounds... smaller more natural/smoother, larger more boomy. for lack of better words... put them in, see if it needs to be tighter/punchier, if it does shrink it down a little.. me personally, I'd use 2" or smaller wood dowels to brace it front to back side to side top to bottum. no doubt in my mind it'll flex since it's single layer and these subs have potential to move alot of air and with force... so I'd imagine the box will have very light flexing that would go away with bracing and to get cylinder volume you do (3.14r)^2(h) piexradius(squared)x height/length IF you REALLY think the dowels would set you overboard on volume... but I think you're at optimal range a good mix of sq and spl

and what was amp/volt output? I'm guessing the imp rose a bit and it wasn't 4ohm seeing as how it was a sub and you'd have to run it like 1ohm resistive to get a 4ohm reactive load... so if you devide volts by amps you get the ohms your sub is actually playing at to get the 480 watts

so I had the car off, the green power led on amp still on, and I thumped on the rca inputs and didn't get any sound from the speakers so I'm guessing the amp isn't really on... I suppose I could measure the power lead with my amp meter to see if it's drawing anything measurable... any input? I'll try the amp clamp meter and see if there's significant draw and post back my results...
