1999 Ranger regular cab
Well.....I've switched over to (2) 10'' SSA ICONS sealed from a 10'' Fi BL in 1.25ft^3@33hz. I couldn't get enough port area for a decent ported box so I was forced to ditch the BL. Here's a list of the equipment: Powermaster xs1200 Kicker Hyperflex 1/0 Pioneer Premier Ts-c720 w/ Seas tweets Sundown 100.2 (2) 10'' ICONS in 1.4ft^3 sealed JL 1000/1

SSA ICON vs. Fi BL pics
1000 watts and a 1.25ft^3 with a 3'' aero didn't do it any justice. But hopefully doubling the cone area will help makeup the output lost from a sealed box.

SSA ICON vs. Fi BL pics
I tried so hard to get the BL in an enclosure it deserved but I couldn't do it in that tiny truck. But I know I won't be dissapointed with the two Icons sealed.....I hooked one up the other day and it sounded amazing!

Fi Q General Newb Questions.
1) Sundowns are great amps....although they aren't mainstream, they are a very reputable company. I love my Sundown 100.2 2) If you get dual 1, you will wire it to 2 ohms. This would be good for a JL amp because of they put out the most power from 1.5-4 ohms. But if you end up getting a Sundown amp, you'll want to get a dual 2 ohm sub so you can wire it to 1 ohm. 3) There are a lot of people on this forum who can build a box for you. Just ask around and you'll find them no problem. Mlstrass, Fisher Customs, Mr. Cabinetry, to name a few. 4) I think going with a Q is a great choice. I own a Bl and the build quality is excellent. I also have a SSA Icon and although I have very limited time with it, I'm loving it so far. Definitely up to par with Fi. There are a ton of subs that can be recommended but I don't want to make your decision harder than it already is. The Q or Icon in a sealed box will definitely achieve what you are looking for.

GODSMACK
Awesome seller. He gave me tracking numbers right away, kept in contact, and helped me with whatever questions I had. He takes very good care of his equipment and it really shows. I would never hesitate to buy from him again, great guy!

Plug on BL pole vent
So, is it true that a sub will eventually fail if the pole vent gets too close to a wall of the enclosure...or is this a myth. (obviously not talking about the BL or BTL here)

Plug on BL pole vent
Nope it is there for a reason. I don't think you could take it off if you tried though.

Need help with box design for 2 10" Icons for a trunk of an evo
That is one sexy looking trunk. Congrats to the owner of the car and you, audiophyle, for such a nice setup. I will have (2) 10'' Icons sealed off 500 each in the very near future and although the output won't be near this setup, I am still very very excited. Great work!

Blow-through in my bagged 95 fullsize chevy
This will be pretty bad ass when you're done. Good job.

The build looks awesome. I can see the face.....

SUNDOWN HAD A GOOD SHOWING
Good job, that's awesome. Do you have any pictures of your setup?

sub forward or back
I think the only way to know is to give it a try. If you don't like it, just switch it back. Hopefully someone with a similar car can give you a better answer before you try and strong arm that heavy box around.

That is one hot piece of ace. Can't wait for it to get here.

IXL 10.2.2

Two 10" Icons (Pix)

jeep wrangler subwoofer box...
If he's looking to conserve space tell him to look into using an aeroport. But if he's planning on getting the Bl make sure he gets a 4'' aero. Or (2) 3'', but I don't think you'll be able to get the length needed for (2) 3'' aeros into that small of a box. They would need to be like 30'' long each.

jeep wrangler subwoofer box...
Wranglers are notorious for getting broken in to, due to the soft top. Maybe a sealed downfiring box with a couple of 10's or 12's if you can fit them. But if he doesn't care about that and just wants to get stupid loud then go with (2) 10'' BLs and port it. Remember I have one for sale still and I live in the south suburbs. He can get a great deal on a barely used BL.

Pair of 10" RL-i 10's
looks awesome as always....
-
Fi Q or Fi SSD
Either one will satisfy what you're looking for. They both have the potential to get loud given the right enclosure and they both will sound good enough for you. Unless you are a sq nut, put one of those in their recommended ported enclosure and enjoy! That will accomplish the "LSQ" you are looking for. When I see someone newer to the site say "LSQ" I interpret it as they want to get loud without sounding like crap.

Porsche 944 hardwood box
Is that just (1) 3'' aero? If so, any port noise?
-
looking to build a system
Then check out the 12'' version of the BL, they'll get loud off that power no problem.
