  1. My 04' civic needed very little modification, an mdf spacer will be a necessity, and possibly making the hole in the car slightly bigger to fit the 6.5. Nothing you couldn't tackle yourself.
  2. That's pretty damn loud there, what you got runnin? That link you posted was broken so here it is.
  3. Thanks for the input Jim, I really do want to go active, but I would need a new HU. The reason I just wanted to replace the speakers was because I am getting a new car anyway in about 2 years, and I'm gonna run a 3-way actively.
  4. Jeez I forgot all about that, Thanks for your help dave
  5. Ok Thanks, I was hoping to find them a bit cheaper than 499. =\
  6. I was really considering them, wheres the cheapest place to get them?
  7. Hey just want some guidance and suggestions. I have type-r's which I'm really starting to get sick of. The 6.5 is in stock location and tweeter is flush mounted in the door. All I really want to do is replace it, and not change the locations. I want component set with a passive crossover which has good sound quality. My price range is around $400. But give me some suggestions in the 300-200 price range as well. I know anything will sound better then these Alpines. I need the new tweeter to fit into the hole which is there for the type-r tweeter. The dimensions of the type-r are Tweeter Mounting Diameter (in): 2'' Tweeter Mounting Diameter (mm): 51mm Tweeter cannot be smaller than these dimensions* These will be powered by a PDX-4.150 (150 rms/ch) Thanks Mike

    Sexy, Good Luck!
  9. What are you looking for, components or coaxial, and whats your budget? And will you be amping these speakers?
  10. Wow 1250 each is too much? Its rated for 1000 thats weird.
  11. Usually component speaker sets (2-way) come with passive crossovers. They are recommending an active setup, meaning not using the crossovers that come with the set, but rather using your deck etc, this enables fine tuning for a better imaging.
  12. Those are some sexy ass boxes! What kind of software do you use to calculate?
  13. Damn UPS are asses. Did you keep the stock HU?
