That would be a woofer, not a SUBwoofer. It plays midbass, not subbass. Woofer, subwoofer, it's all relative. I have Mach 5 6.5" WOOFERS in my doors, but they reach into the subbass region. Does that mean they are subwoofers only? They are running wide open on the top end and I have range in the upper end of 2K, so technically, they are subwoofers, woofers, midranges, and tweeters. Hell, even "subwoofers" are capable of producing frequencies well above what they are intended to reproduce. I know what you are trying to convey here, but what's typed is incorrect. This is why youtube videos arent good, because people will see it and you already know what that means that they will believe what they see (speaking in general so OP dont think it is directed at you). Under the right conditions, box, amplifier settings, head unit settings and volume knob control, etc. all play a roll in how much you can throw at a subwoofer. You also have to understand how long you can play it for, under what conditions and be able to see/hear/smell signs of stress on the woofer. But you dont have to run rated power or double the rated power to make the sub do what it is intended to do and perform the way it was intended to perform. No offense taken. That is why I ask questions, lol. I figured he probably had his gains set very modestly. The only reason I asked is be because of the common occurence of companys under rating their subs for noobs. IE the HDC3 will do more than twice rated. Was just curious. Thanks. Put an HCC3 in an incorrect enclosure and it won't handle half rated.

My now (ex) girlfriend's dad had a 120" screen and Martin Logans all around...Movies over there were pure sex. ML's are nifty. I have only heard 2 chan. Almost as good as Maggies. I <3 Maggies. I couldn't deal with how directional the ML's I auditioned were. You have to be right on axis for the potential to really shine and the the sweet spot felt SO small. STanding vs. sitting threw it off for me even. Just wouldn't work in my set up. Which ML's did you listen too? He had 7.1 in all Logans, the fronts are the 7' tall ones, with a center under his screen and sides, rears, and sub. He staggered the theater chairs and arraigned the speakers so that 5 of his 9 chairs are in the sweet spot, the only "bad" place to sit is the very outside.
