  1. Thanks again Andrew, I couln't imagine that would be very cost effective to have a production motor that is only available in one size.
  2. My last question is about the HDC4's motors. I noticed the motor weight of the hdc418 is 71 pounds and the hdc415 and hdc412 motor weight is 65 and 64 pounds is the motor on the hdc418 a larger diffrent motor than you get with the other two sizes?
  3. Oh I went for the 3500, http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/61274-q1-3500d1-amplifier-guts/ thanks for the help with my hdc3 & hdc4 questions too, feel like I kinda got repetitive.

http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/61795-detailed-pics-of-a-soundqubed-hds200-15/ for anyone that wants even more pics of the 15" model Gasket and magnet boot taken off ( yes it came with one) As stated in this thread from a few weeks ago, I would recommend these woofer's in a heartbeat
  5. Hey everyone, this thread is me clearing up a few questions I have about HDC3's and HDC4's. These are the two subs in question. (so it's easy to reference ) HDC3: http://www.soundqubed.com/HDC3118-Copper-Coil-Subwoofer_p_25.html HDC4: http://www.soundqubed.com/HDC418-D1-A-_p_137.html We are talking about 18" only Whats the story behind the high Fs of the HDC'4? Was this a non broken in woofer or something? The suspension is that stiff? (equivalent HDC3 is 9hrz lower IIRC) Between the HDC3's copper coil & the HDC4's aluminum coil 1. Can I daily an HDC4 on music? 2. Is there a large efficiency difference? 3.Why is the 4's coil an aluminum winding? Just weight savings and thermal dissipation? is it worth worrying over? Required cubic feet and port area? Do they want the same? & What do they want? Everyone loves pics.. First the HDC3: Then, the HDC4 Lets see what everyone thinks. p.s. Happy birthday M5
  6. is this still for sale?
  7. What? Thank you so so much for what you have just done. huge money in your future. AQ/soundqubed has a following too! like me Also, Will SSA be adding a Soundqubed section in the forum. in the supported brands section?
  8. you don't need a certin number of posts. use photobucket
  9. post pictures to help us
  10. what he said. gaskets slide aroundf freely o n the outside of the basket. spin it.
  11. Soundqubed is vague but in a car these like 3-3.5 cubes tuned from 30-40hrz. sealed your looking at 2-3 cubes. Each driver gets 7.5 cubes a piece for a total box volume of 15 cubic feet per enclosure in my set up though, so ... experimenting.
  12. Six 0-gauge inputs, Six 0-gauge outputs. I'm planning on using only one of these but its another product I want two of just incase they stop making them. oh, and they are $40 dollars. so many possibilities...
  13. http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/NU3000.aspx is looking like the way its going as far as amplification. here is a link to the subs http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/61795-detailed-pics-of-a-soundqubed-hds200-15/
  14. I am very very imprssed with these woofers and would recomend them in a heartbeat. and they cost as much for a full driver as most companies charge for a recone. lol
  15. I'm saying lets move past the less than ideal drivers. I'm aware they are not perfectly suited for what I have in mind. I want help solving the problems that I have now
  16. That SP4 basket is just out of control. I need one in my hands.
  17. ^^^comment is one big bummer. It's probably worth saying that this is not a home theater setup. It's not a surround system. Is it a very directional, dedicated music system. While I am aware that these drivers are not ideal, saying that they are a waste of money is a stretch. M5, I'm not an SQ guy. let me put it this way..I'm the guy you probably hate who is trying to throw 700 square inches of cone area at smallish room in my house in a huge slot ported box. I want to work with you, but you cant do that to me man.
  18. IB and an EQ and hope you don't run out of power or excursion too quickly. Those subs are not going to be ported friendly for the type of ported enclosure a house requires. And with their high Q and high Fs they need a large sealed enclosure to not raise the Q too high but are also going to roll off pretty early no matter what you do. To be honest your best bet is to sell them and buy something that actually fits your needs.BTW you need to delete that picture of the dual 18 XXX's. It makes me drool all over my keyboard every time I have to scroll past it. Could you give me an example of how my poor driver choice will manifest itself? (rolling off) and also what do you mean when you say they are not going to be port friendly?
  19. Assuming that I am not changing drivers. what is your guys input The reason they have less than ideal ts parameters is because they are $90 dollars.
