You may want to re-think your budget and choice of subwoofers. Take a look in the SSA store for some nice combo packages. You will be happier. X2 on the Knu wiring kits! Depending if the woofer has a rear vented pole you want to at least keep 3" between wall and rear vent. Dual voice coils have more flexibilty than single.

Give us the dimensions of your enclosure with port or vent dimensions.

Make sure the woofer isn't wired out of phase! Also how do you have your crossover set?

I demoed my 10" DCON to the local Alpine/RF dealer and we swapped out my DCON and enclosure for a 12" Type R and its pre-fab enclosure. The DCON was louder to the ear and played the lows with more authority. "The overall sound and output of the DCON was superior to the Type R". That was the response I got from the dealer himself. DCON FTW!
The DCON is a great all around subwoofer! You will love it!
Won't need as much power to get loud.
Generally the smaller enclosure your going to be able to increase the power applied. Larger enclosure generally is more efficient and doesn't need the extra amplifier power applied.
Your enclosure acts like the speaker and when you open the door or window that in turn acts like a vent or port and increases loudness.
I've been curious to try this, but I think it will be better utilized in an SUV or van. Why I don't think it is very popular is due to the output of a correct aligned ported enclosure.

Congrats man! A daily driver doing a 140+ is great imo! Sundown Audio FTMFW!
If your dead set on those subs, look through Sonic yourselves and make your choice! I would seriously re-think you choices though!
Running the Sundown daily at .5 ohm voids the warranty! Sundown's new tooled board and improvements = Sundown > RD Audio!
Imo one of the most underrated subwoofers out there for the money! Nice pics!
XCON and BTL are worlds apart in purposes and goals.
Do it, Get the SSA logo! Then when you want more you can get an M on each butt cheek and pay tribute to MOM! Or WOW upside down! ....
Probably wouldn't be a bad idea since you took out 1 piece of the signal chain.
