Honestly I would go with a pair or even a trio of 12" subs! Height will not be a factor and you will not have to worry about squeezing in a box for 2 15".

Research, reasearch and more research. Look at historical highs and lows and current value. Find yourself a reputable broker. AG Edwards etc.

What size of power wire are you using? Make sure your ground is secure and at a clean solid point. Make sure the speaker wire and speakers are secure. Loose speaker wire grounding out can cause the amp to go into protect, especially when the car is on and the car is vibrating causing the wire to ground out.

Backtracking here, the SA-8 is not a limited throw woofer. But in the vehichle enviroment the cabin gain increases due to smaller area and more things for the woofer to load off. Home audio means larger area with limited items for the woofer to load off of. Corner loading has worked for me in the past. But I am far from and expert.

Take your enclosure and set it at a 45 degree angle in the corner of your room and basically listen and then move the enclosure around until you find the sweet spot.

Try mounting the sub in the middle and ports on the sides, all facing up. But another option may be sub up and ports rear firing if the depth allows.
