As long as the protection led does not stay on and it powers on fine, then the amplifier is fine. If you want the blue status led to work you could send it to db-r for a check up and led replacement.

Clipping the input signal maybe. Take a DMM and check to see if you have voltage drop at the amp when your play the stereo.

Test it and monitor your voltage. If you see major voltage drops then add another batt. But what you have should be enough.

I have had experience with both drivers and the SSD hands down was a better sounding driver.
That was some impressive spl!
