  1. Baffle is a piece of wood (MDF) that is attatched to the door and creates a firm mounting location for your mid. Better than mounting to the thin plastic or metal itself.
  2. Geezuz the dampening is even flexing around the box! Nice job guys!
  3. Your taking on a tall task! Good luck to you on your quest! Eminence and Credence are another option for you to try but I highly doubt they will sell you anything in a single qty!
  4. On a serious note good thing nothing more serious happened!
  5. Yes you possible could have knocked the ground off. Double check all your wiring, sounds like a bad ground. Make sure it is connected to a good metal spot with no paint.
  6. Holy Cripes dude! Looking good! What brand are the comps?
  7. They would be a great "daily" amplifier.
  8. Mounting depth will be 6" on the 10" SSD and as far as motor width I would say close to 6-7" in diameter. The Q will be bigger.
  9. It uses a standard 12 spoke basket if that is the worry.
  10. Buy it! Rushrun here o the forum runs Massive amplifiers and has always said good things about them.
  11. I believe the VLX line does rated and then some! Not sure though. It is a step up over the XT line which is rumored to be overrated.
  12. The bass may be tight, but what about the damn pictures? j/k ... Nice purchase SSA ftw!
  13. No experience but they are price friendly. May want to search a little on Madisound as well as Parts Express for raw drivers.
  14. Should be able to find what you need here .... http://mobile.jlaudi...php?page_id=126
  15. I used Herculiner on a couple boxes with great results, but I like the different colors of the Durabak product!
  16. Welcome .... Read through your JL Audio Manuals as they will have information on gain and crossover settings.
  17. Great review! I overlooked that this was a full range class D 4 channel!
  18. To little port area can result in "huffing" or port noise. Port area is your friend!
  19. Here's a good story.... Local stereo shop likes to brag about having the best products around and such. Also they like to marke everything up to MSRP. Well I did an install for a friend and we used welding cable throughout for power, ground and big 3. We went to a comp at a neighboring town and the local shop guys come over to see the install and said wow you're using that cheap crappy welding cable? We were like yea it's copper, flexible jacket and is half the price of the so called "Car Audio" wire you sell. All he could say was "good luck, cuz you know you're going to have major voltage drop with that wire?" I was like ! Walked away and had to laugh!
  20. We have a 1K foot roll of 2/0 grounding cable here at work for the back up battery bank for the telecommunications area! Real nice and flexible and true copper made here in the good ol' USA!
  21. really looking forward to the testing results!
  22. KCA is copper clad aluminum with the new flex jacket! I would save more money and look into 99.99999% copper from WeldingSupply.com.
  23. I see big things from this driver! I can test a prototype for you ....
  24. Hmmmmm, Mmmmmmmm FCON! Looks great guys!
